You guys...I am so excited that all the fall shows are coming back within the next couple weeks. Yay for zero productivity. Am I right? Such is life in Minnesota when it's too cold to go out and do anything. What better way to spend time indoors than watching TV.

Like I said all my shows that I watch start coming back this next week. Once they are all back, this is what my week will look like in a nutshell.

 photo Sunday_zps99ad902f.jpg

The Emmy's are on tonight and then Sunday's after this week is:

 photo revenge-season-3-promo-who-gets-sho_zps2017ada8.jpg

The 3rd season starts this week. I've loved this show since day one and I'm excited to see where they take it and if it will be able to sustain a possible 4th season.

 photo eastbound-and-down-4_zpsab85118a.jpg

The 4th and final season starts this week. Thank god it's the last season. Although it's a funny show, it's also quite stupid. But I watch this one with the Husband, and once I start a series I feel the need to finish. Right?

 photo tumblr_mo561lGAZI1qh4f92o1_1280_zpsfcd99c61.jpg

The 4th season starts again on 10/13, so a little later than most, but I'm still excited none the less. I also watch this one with Wayne. We are both so excited to see where this one goes, too. It ended on such a cliffhanger last season. Also, I just saw online that AMC is working on a spin-off from this show. THAT will be interesting.

Season 3 is coming back. This is one of those feel good shows that I watch.

The 2nd season starts this week. Woo-hoo! I recently watched Season 1 and am probably the most excited for this show...tied with Nashville.

 photo or_zpsbdce896e.jpg

This will be the regular night for this new series. It is a spinoff from The Vampire Diaries. I'm already invested in the main characters, so I know this is a show I will be watching on the regular.

Again, I am excited to see where they take this into season 2.

 photo nashville-season-2-poster_zps7432af1b.jpg

Like I said, I am tied with Chicago Fire on most anticipated premiere this week. I've been dying from seeing the previews. Obviously they can't kill off Rayna, but where does this leave her relationship with Deacon. Can't wait!

 photo Thursday_zps49c58e71.jpg

 photo vampire-diaries-season-5-spoilers-l_zpsca483fcc.jpg

This is the one show I am most worried about. With the premiere of The Originals and those cast members not being on THIS show, I am eagerly anticipating where they will take this to sustain another season past season 5.

Parenthood

  photo r-PARENTHOOD-SEASON-5-PALEY-large57_zps586dd82e.jpg

I can't believe it is season 5 already of this show. I feel like it just started and I still love it just as much as the first season. I'm interested to see how they transition the characters from last season into this season. They went through some major things last season, so I don't know where they are going to go from there. Looking forward to it very much.

 photo 729889_600_zps4293516c.jpg

I watched all of season 1 and then heard they were not renewing it, but was SO excited the CW decided to bring it back. I love CW, for their feel-good teen dramas. Also, confession....I've never seen a full episode of SITC. Don't hate me! It is on my list to start watching.

 photo 993969_512338852181396_2078734950_n_zpsf3d9c10d.jpg

This started last week. I love her and I always will.

 photo Saturday_zps8c80148d.jpg

P.S. This is just existing shows (minus The Originals on Tuesdays) that are coming back for another season. This doesn't include any NEW shows that are premiering for the first time.I have my eye on a few that I am going to try and catch for the first time. We'll see how they pan out.

Also, I watch The Following with the Husband and all I know is as of right now it is scheduled to come back in 2014. Woohoo!

Any other shows I am forgetting about or should check out?

Happy Friday!! Sorry, I've been a little MIA this week with no posts. I feel like I have so much going on, but nothing going on all at the same time. It's been a good week overall, so that's always positive.

 photo 5onFridayLogo-Final-forblogsidemenu_zps36a60e4a.jpg

I'm linking up with Darci for 5 on Friday to share 5 little tidbits about my week.

 photo One_zps82e90047.jpg

I've failed to blog about or mention that I've been getting my house cleaned for about the last month or so. They come every other Wednesday and it's glorious!! Seriously, it's such an anxiety reliever for me to know that it's all done and I don't have to worry about it. Plus, I love that it leaves me more time in the evenings with Hailey and on weekends with Wayne. Our time together as a family is VERY limited, so I like that fact that I don't have to use our family time away to be cleaning.

 photo Two_zps9480eae5.jpg

Wayne's recovery is going well. He's been sleeping in the recliner in the basement since he's been home last Wednesday night. I think he's finally ready to come back to bed though. You can really only sleep in a chair for so long, even if you are recovering from surgery. Although, I've enjoyed having our whole king size bed to myself, I miss him terribly.

 photo Three_zpsa0c16959.jpg

SO excited about Fall TV starting this week. I have a post coming on that this weekend.

 photo Four_zps42652784.jpg

The new iPhone is out today! Woohoo! I downloaded the new ios7 late Wednesday night, so I've just been able to play around with it yesterday, but I have to say I really like it. Basically they are trying to compete with android and windows phones, so I totally get why all the new features are the way they are. I am due for a phone upgrade, but Wayne is not yet and I think we might switch to the Verizon network at that point. He gets a deal through his work and he's been SO not happy lately with our Sprint service. So we'll see. Either way, we WILL be getting the newest iPhone 5s.

 photo iphone2013-0140_zps4da9b6dd.jpg

 photo Five_zps374c392c.jpg

Last but not least, we are doing the Vikings 5k tomorrow morning. We have to get up a lot earlier than we normally do and get downtown by 7:30 am which is race start time. Totally sucky and it kind of snuck up on me. I haven't been to the gym or been working out since I sprained my ankle about 5 weeks ago. We are walking/running it with Hailey in the jogging stroller. It should be fun, it's just SO freaking early!

How was your week? Anything fun planned this weekend?

Never Ever Ever,

Will I hate football season. I'm such an NFL girl. No college for me.

Will I NOT be a Vikings fan. No matter how awful they are. We bleed purple.

Will I NOT be obsessed with TV. It's my favorite hobby and my escape away from the real world.

Will I NOT be grateful for my DVR. No explanation needed.

Will I NOT ever own an iPhone. So user friendly and LOVE everything about it. Can't wait to upgrade to the new 5S soon.

Will I NOT ever LOVE my iPad. It's so convenient, fun and great for Hailey, too.

Will I hate getting a mani/pedi. Holla!

Happy Tuesday folks!

So this song wasn't supposed to be released until today, but of course with the way the music industry has been lately it was leaked yesterday.

Here it is...

Work Bitch by Britney Spears

If you know me, you know I am a HUGE Britney fan. I've been waiting for new music from her for awhile now. She did collaborate with will.i.am for Scream & Shout, but for me that was such a tease. I really like this song. In my eyes she can do no wrong, and I still loved her even through all of her craziness. I can't wait to see what the rest of her album brings.

What do you think of this new song?

Happy Friday Friends!!

 photo 1_zps0d3a1ab2.jpg

Our neighbors are crazy. Like whoa. Bat shit crazy. We are renting. So it's not permanent. Thank god. There are literally like 12 people that live in the house and they all have issues. Yelling. Screaming. Health issues with the elderly. It's sad really. The cops and ambulances have been there numerous times, but thankfully Wayne has an old high school friend that is on our cities police department, so when ever anything happens, he finds out from her what's going on. It's all stupid little disagreements. Nonsense really. I guess it's just more annoying for us. Anyhow, I can't wait until the spring until we can start looking at houses and hopefully get out of here. I want a house of our own,  more than anything right now, besides maybe a tropical vacation.

 photo 2_zps620ca4c9.jpg

I finished season 1 of Chicago Fire and it's one of those shows where you get depressed when it's over. Ugh. I can't wait for Season 2 to start in just a couple weeks. Also, the season finale of Mistresses was this last Monday. Anyone else watch that? I really like it and hope it comes back for another season. The season finale of The Newsroom is this Sunday, too. Already? This season was only 9 episodes. I'm so not ready for it to be done and I feel like they have a ton of wrapping up loose ends to do. We'll see.

 photo 3_zpsa3706c3a.jpg

I've been obsessed with Peanut Buster Parfaits from DQ. That's all I ever get. Do you get the same thing every time or change it up? It's nearing the end of good ole summer here in Minny and I think I'm trying to hold onto anything I can.

 photo 4_zps4f59d67e.jpg

Love THIS post about being a mother. Go read it and tell me what you think. I happen to think it's spot on.

 photo 5_zpscc3204fc.jpg

I got this Nivea lip balm this week. It smells so good and has a shimmery tint to it. I love it to give my lips quick moisture and color at the same time.

One month from today is Bloggy Boot Camp!

 photo minneapolispost_zpsebc1996b.png

Who is going? I know of a couple people that are going, but if you are on the fence about going, I have one word...Go!

You can be a newbie with me. I'm gonna be a conference blog first timer, too, so have no fear! We can brave the conference together. You won't be alone. Like I said, I am so excited to attend my first blog conference. If nothing else comes from this weekend (other than just attending, the free food and free wine, HOLLA!), I will be quite all right with that. BUT, I don't think that will happen.

Here are my goals for this blog conference:

1. Just Go. Be open to everything. The People. The events. The speakers. The overall experience of it all.
2. Take lots of notes and try and apply them to my life/blog.
3. Network. READ: Make friends and connections.
5. Have fun. What more could I want than that?!

Watch this 2 min video and tell me you don't want to join.

The Sunshine Award (2013)

The Sunshine Award (2013)
Wednesday, September 11, 2013
Read post
So instead of a depressing 9/11 post with pictures, videos, etc., I decided to keep it positive and complete my Sunshine Award. We are never going to forget what happened on 9/11 and no amount of pictures, etc. will make me feel any better about it. Plus, it's all we see online or on the news. So that's that. All I can say is God Bless America.

I was so honored when I read that Kayla from Kayla Layla nominated me for a Sunshine Award! As I said in THIS POST, I just can't get enough of her.

 photo sunshine-award_zpsd1df1b12.jpg

A Sunshine Award is given to bloggers whose posts brighten your day.

Here are the rules:

1. Include award logo in a post or on your blog (above).

2. Link to the person who nominated you.

3. Answer 10 questions about yourself.

4. Nominate 10 bloggers to receive the award.

5. Link your nominees to the post and comment on their blogs letting them know they’ve been nominated.

Here are Kayla's Questions for her nominees and my answers:

1. If you were a Real Housewife, what would your tagline be? If you don't watch it, I'll give you an example of what mine would be. "There's nothing wrong with being classy, sassy, and a bit smart ass-y!"

So I have to be honest. I have never seen an episode of any of the RH's series. Never. Ever. So I had to do a little research of what a tag-line was all about. I thought Kelly Killoren-Bensimon's line from S2 & S3 of DC fit me perfectly.

"I've created a great life and I love living it."

I don't know who Kelly is and it's a little more generic, but I could totally see myself changing my blog line to that instead of what I have now.

2. What is your favorite boy band of all time?

If you know me, you know I love ALL things Boy Band. For realz. You name em, I love them. But, if I had to pick just one, it would be The Backstreet Boys. They were the epitome of my teenage years.

3. Which member of The Brady Bunch can you most relate to?

Probably Marsha Brady. We both  have the oldest child syndrome.

4. Will you be wearing white now that Labor Day has passed?

Yea. I'm not much of a rule follower with clothes and in Minnesota, if the weather is nice you wear it as long as you can, whether it be shorts, capris or dresses.

5. Nacho Cheese or Cooler Ranch Doritos?

I like both. Depends on my mood, but I usually prefer and have at home Nacho Cheese.

6. Describe something about yourself that you secretly love and wish others noticed more.

I don't know on this one. I have a lot of work to do on my post baby body, so it wouldn't be anything with that. The two things I normally get compliments on are my eyes and my dimple. That's pretty much it and that's totally fine by me.

7. Would you rather be deaf or blind?

Probably deaf. If I couldn't see my Hubs, Hailey, my family and friends, etc., I don't know what I would do.

8. Maury's Paternity Tests episodes or Out of Control Teens?

Both make me sad, but at least Paternity Tests is a brand newish life with potential. My heart breaks from seeing struggling people, especially teens.

9. If you could go back in time for 24 hours, where would you go and what would you do?

I would love to go back and re-live my wedding day. I know a lot of people would say their child's birth, but honestly, it was a painful couple days after she was born and although I'm so happy she is here and we are both healthy, I rather not re-live that pain of that day or time.

10. Who's sexier? Larry King or Steve Buscemi?

I would choose Steve Buscemi. I think one of his best traits is that he is funny, and that's one of my top must have traits. Also, I love him in the movie Armageddon. It's one of my all time favorite movies and I LOVE his character, Rockhound.

 photo SB_zps3d25829f.jpg

The 10 bloggers that I am nominating are:

1. Sarah from Dreaming About Baby
2. Sarah from Midwest Pillowtalk
3. Jenn from Squishy Cheeks & Cupcakes
4. Kelly from Four Kids, a mini-van and a lot of love
5. Gabriella from Ramblings of a Girl
6. Katie from This is My Life
7. Jen from Wonderfully Unkempt
8. Momma B from Momma B Blog
9. Kenzie from Life According to Kenz
10. Andrea from Love Is

And the 10 questions I want them to answer are:

1. What is your favorite boy band of all time? If you are not a boy band fan, let us know why.

2. What is your favorite vacation spot?

3. What is the hardest thing you've ever had to do?

4. Wine, beer, or mixed drinks? What kind?

5. What's one thing you've been putting off?

6. Sweet or salty snacks? What is it?

7. If you could go back in time for 24 hours, where would you go and what would you do?

8. What is your next big goal for yourself?

9. What is your favorite app on your phone (or website if you don’t have a smartphone) BESIDES the usual social media ones (i.e. Facebook, IG, Twitter)?

10. Where is your favorite place to shop? For yourself.

I look forward to hearing from all of you lovely ladies!!!

This week I figured I would feature Robin Thicke. Some people didn't even know who he was until Blurred Lines came out this summer. He's been around for awhile now.

Well, here is his newest single, which I'm not a huge fan of the rap parts, but I really like the chorus. That part I turn up real loud.

Here is an old favorite of mine. And by old, I mean 2009 ish. It is actually Leighton Meester's song feat Robin Thicke. I have LOVED this song ever since I first heard it.

We had a horrible storm. There were branches/trees down and to make matters worse, the freaking power went out. Of course it had to go out while I was busy cleaning house, because why? Oh yea, Green Grandma was coming less than 2 days later. Ugh. Wayne was at work, so Hailey and I made the best of it that night. We did sleep at our house Friday night, but then headed to my parents house Saturday morning.

We headed out to St. Paul to celebrate Dave's Belated 60th Birthday. He is the Dad of our good friend, Adam. I've mentioned him on this little blog of mine before. He has been battling cancer for about a year and a half. We had a benefit for him last June. He definitely still has his ups and downs, but he's such a fighter and is hanging in there.

Ok, who watches this show and why did no one tell me how GREAT it is? Ok, there were a few people that did ask if I watched Chicago Fire and when I said no, they immediately told me I NEEDED to.

So I did. I mean I am.

I watch it via ON DEMAND (again...LOVE IT!) I started it about a month ago and watched the first 3 episodes and then I was going to wait for Wayne cause I thought it was a show he would like and we could watch together. He did watch the first 3 episodes and I think he liked it OK, but with his schedule we can barely keep up with the shows we already DO watch together and it was just too hard to add another one.

Honestly, I got too impatient, so I just went ahead and watched it without him over this last weekend. Seriously, SO SO good, and in my defense, I want to get through the 1st season before season 2 starts on September 24th. As of today, I am through episode 14 of 24 and am hoping to finish it by the end of this week.

It did throw me for a loop in these last couple episodes (13 & 14) when I thought one of my favorite main characters was going to leave the show and I was actually contemplating not watching it anymore. Cause really, what's the point without him, right?

 photo Taylor-Kinney-thenigerianreporter_zpsc8e50931.jpg

I mean, who doesn't love Taylor Kinney. I first laid eyes on him in 2010 when he appeared on Season 2 of Vampire Diaries. He only lasted about a season and then was killed off. I was sad. I thought the same thing was going to happen and he was done and wouldn't even make it through Season 1 of Chicago Fire, but then miraculously the writers pulled their heads out of their butt's and he ends up staying.

Oh Chicago Fire. How I love thee.

I still have several episodes to go before the end of the first season, but I am already looking forward to starting season 2.

Anyone else watch Chicago Fire?

Another Surgery in 2013

Another Surgery in 2013
Wednesday, September 4, 2013
Read post
About 3 weeks ago at 4:00 a.m. on Monday morning, August 12th, Wayne had a gallbladder attack. He had all the symptoms:

- Moderate to severe pain under the right side of the rib cage
- Pain through to the back and/or to the right shoulder
- Severe upper abdominal pain
- Nausea
- Queasiness
- Vomiting (almost)
- Gas
- Burping or belching
- His attack was at night
- His attack was after overeating
- His attack was followed a day of fatty and greasy foods
- His pain was worse with deep inhalation

And I mean ALL the symptoms. I had never seen him like that or in so much pain. Not even from his stomach hernia. Totally not like him, so I knew it was bad.

He went to the Dr later that morning, they ran some blood tests, prescribed him some pain meds and the Dr. recommended he have an ultrasound. We then went upstairs to do the ultrasound. Afterwards the tech unofficially concluded he had gall stones. Because she was a tech and not the Dr, she couldn't tell him that ON the record. They said they would call him after the Dr looked at it and then we were on our way.

That Thursday, the 15th, the Dr called him to confirm that he indeed needed his gallbladder out and they were referring him to another office and to call them to schedule a consult. So he calls and they can't get him in until the following Wednesday morning the 21st. The day before the start of the MN State Fair. Ugh. So, we pretty much came to the conclusion right away that the surgery was by no means happening before the fair. Great (insert sarcasm font). He went to the consult that Wednesday and because he could in no way miss any of the fair, the surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10th. So needless to say he has been dealing with on and off pain since August 12th. Fun (insert more sarcasm font).

To complicate things even more, because he had hernia surgery just in April, this gallbladder surgery might be more invasive and instead of it being a daily in & out thing, he might have to spend a night or two in the hospital. Gross. The only thing that sucks about this whole things is A) He's in on/off pain until then and B) The Dr won't know until she is actually IN surgery if it will be more invasive or not. So we kind of have to wing it and plan for the worse.

Always something right?

First off...WOWZA. I can't believe it's September already and we are experiencing fall weather. Not sure how I feel about that one yet. I know everyone is jumping on the Blogtember that is happening over at SOML, but I just am not that organized for that right now.

The MN State Fair is done and I, for one, am so happy about it. I finally have my Husband back and my life can go back to some kind of normal. We went 2 times this year, which is less than normal, but plenty this year with the heat. We got in all the yummy foods we needed and then some.

I usually take weekends off for blog posts and I counted yesterday as part of the weekend. So no Music Monday yesterday, but I'm already thinking of next week, so stay tuned.

My Babygirl starts full time daycare this week. Both of us decided to take her this morning, since she starts in a new room, with a new cubby, new(ish) teachers and new(ish) friends. Usually Wayne drops off and I pick up, but we both decided to go to make the transition complete. She's already been in this class off and on for about a month now, but she will officially be moved over starting today. We'll see how we all are at the end of the week. I know that a lot of parents are going through the whole 1st day of school business, so just know that I kind of get it, too, OK? OK.

We have regressed in the whole potty training department. She did SO good at the fair both Friday AND Saturday and then for some reason on Sunday she just wasn't into it. We were home most of the day, too and it just wasn't clicking. It's so hard to not get frustrated or discouraged, but I'm trying to not let it get to me. Monday was more of the same. I'm hoping to get her back on track this week and keep at it and hopefully school will help me re-enforce it as well.

Anyways, that's all I got for today. Hope everyone had a great long holiday weekend and I hope you all have a great first week of September.
