I hope you all had a most wonderful week, weekend and a great Easter! I know I sure did! I wanted to catch you up on a few little things I've been up to lately since I was so MIA last week. I usually post on Friday's because I feel like that's a good day to recap the week, but I was so busy last week, personally AND at work, I just didn't get enough time.

I had to get to Target to get a wedding gift and a baby shower gift, which turned into about 2 hours of roaming the aisles because I hadn't been there in literally a month and a half. Well, since Lent had started anyways. I just couldn't let myself go in there because I was so tempted to buy something for myself. Target has a certain power over me that I just can't get away from. Does that happen to anyone else? Or just me? Well, I got everything I needed and made it out of there without anything for myself. Yay! By the end Hailey was just so done, so I pulled out the iPad for her to watch. I love that thing so much.

Wednesday night I had these plans to run errands and get some stuff done, but the weather did not cooperate and we ended up just going home because we were getting snow. And A LOT of it. My Dad sent me this funny video. If you have seen Frozen or even heard any of the songs, then you will get it. If you haven't seen Frozen, shame on you. He knows Hailey and I are obsessed with it, so it was very fitting.

I think we were and are pretty much over the snow.

I ended up taking a half day. Mostly because I had an early afternoon Dr appointment and didn't feel like going back to work. Long story short...watch out TMI...I haven't been getting my period, or even been regular for that matter in quite sometime, so I started a new BC over the weekend. We will see how it goes. Anyone else out there use the Nuva ring? It's different, but my AWESOME Dr gave me 3 months worth to try it and if I like it then she will call in a prescription. If I end up hating it and/or I am still not getting IT, then we will have to discuss things further. I've only ever been on the pill, so this is a little nerve racking to try something new. I knew I wasn't pregnant or anything, but she still made me pee in a cup. Go figure.

So what did I do with the rest of my afternoon? I went and got my first mani/pedi of the season.

I then proceeded to go shopping. I had pretty much decided the night before after looking through my closet that I didn't have ANYTHING for this wedding. So after getting my nails and toes done, I popped into Kohl's and tried on about 10 different dresses. Literally. Well, that turned into me buying 3 dresses and a pair of sandals. (2 of the dresses I will be taking back.) So even though I made this pact for Lent, I am still proud of myself overall.

I ended up going with the Maxi. I paired it with a black cardigan and these LC black flat sandals. It was such a comfortable outfit and I will be able to wear the maxi all summer long. I have another wedding in July in Iowa, so I am thinking of wearing it there, too.

I picked Hailey up from school, we got her hair cut and then grabbed some dinner before heading home. I had to pack her and me for the overnight sleepover the next night.

I was pleasantly surprised when I came into work that morning that my birthday present had come the day before.

Isn't she lovely? I got 4 links taken out and was so excited to immediately start wearing it.

Katie picked me up early from work, we headed to the hotel to check in, drop off our bags and meet friends to head to the wedding together. I plan to do more of a detailed post about it with a slideshow of pictures, but oh what a great night it was.

I woke up at 8am that morning in the hotel a little hungover. Ok, maybe more than a little. It took me awhile to recoup, but I made it. I went to my cousin's baby shower that afternoon with some family and headed home afterwards. I was so tired that night I went to bed SO early!

Easter was pretty low key. We went over to my MIL's house with some family for lunch and then we got some stuff done around the house and we played outside A LOT. It was 70+ degrees and was literally HOT.

It's been such a great, but busy week. I can't wait to get back to some normalcy AND back to the gym. Mollie was on vacation last week, so I didn't make it at all, but I'm back this week! Let's do it!

How was your week/weekend?

I was feeling pretty good and upbeat, because I hadn't heard from the Dr regarding my glucose test from the Friday before and they tell you if you don't hear anything, then everything is good to go. Well, they ended up calling me late in the afternoon and telling me that my level was "slightly" elevated. It was at 143 and they like to see it at 135 or below. Not sure what a high number is. I didn't ask many questions, because I was so disappointed, but I will be asking questions at our next appointment. So because of that the Dr was ordering the 3 hour test. Even though it was a minor hiccup in what has been a pretty normal pregnancy thus far, I wasn't feeling too good about it. But I knew it had to be done and whatever happened at that point we would just have to deal with head on.

I stopped by the JBF sale in Maple Grove after work. It was very picked over except for the baby clothes, which I expected. I didn't really have much energy to pick through the baby clothing, so I actually looked through the maternity clothes and instead of getting anything for Hailey, I got 4 shirts and a dress for me for about $30.00. What a great deal!

Since Grams was gone on vacation in AZ and Wayne is usually gone Friday nights I decided to have my sisters come and spend the night with me. We just hung out with the pups, ate dinner, watched a movie and went to bed. Nothing too exciting, but I think they really enjoyed seeing the pups and hanging out. I know the pups also enjoyed seeing them as well. It had been too long.

They spent the day helping me clean and packing some things up. It was so nice of them to help me start packing and organizing. Again, it was a very uneventful day, but very productive nonetheless. I brought them home that evening (after a DQ stop of course), stopped at Kohl's to get yet another (much needed) new bra and went home to relax for the rest of the night.

It was nice to have the house to ourselves for the day. It was the one day where we were both home together the whole day. Wayne slept most of the morning as he usually does because of his crazy schedule, but then when he woke up, we got right to work. He hauled all the boxes that we had packed up the day before out to the garage, we reorganized the garage to store some of our packaged up belongings, he swept it out, I went through a few more boxes that we had stored in the garage and filled the trash with things we were getting rid of. It felt so good to purge. I also completely cleaned out my car as Wayne and I were switching. We have a Trailblazer and a Camry and we decided to switch for these last couple of months of pregnancy as it is MUCH easier for me to get in/out of the TB than it is the Camry. What a sweet guy he is for being so understanding. We then headed to Pizza Ranch for dinner, just the two of us. It was our first time there and it was delicious!

Today I had my 3 hour glucose test. I took the day off of work and I was scheduled to be at the lab at 8:30 a.m. I had been fasting (no drink or food) since the night before. They drew my blood, I drank the little bottle of what tastes like over sugared orange pop and then I sat there for 3 hours and they drew my blood 3 more times, every hour, on the hour. I couldn't eat anything until it was over and I could only sip on water. It wasn't a horrible experience. Much more of a mind game than anything else. I brought along my portable DVD player and watched August Rush, which took up about 2 of those hours, I then read on my Nook the other hour.

It was a very touching movie. The only bad part was burping up the glucose drink as I didn't have anything in my stomach. I left the clinic at noon and met Wayne at Applebees for lunch. It was a great lunch and everything tasted so good.

Grams also came back from AZ with her sister Sandy, who is here to stay for the summer.

Friday, April 22, 2011

I had started getting a sore throat the day before, which then went from that to just a scratchy throat and runny nose. My head felt like it was 100 lbs. I went directly home, ate dinner and went right to bed.

Saturday, April 23, 2011

I still didn't feel the best, but I didn't want to miss my friend, Anne's baby shower that afternoon. It was great to see her and our other friend, Tara. It was at Biaggi's in Eden Prairie. This is us with our pregnant bellies.

I am 29 weeks and she is 33 weeks. After the shower I came home, did some cleaning, more packing and then some relaxing. I also watched Winter's Bone.

Overall, the movie was OK. Kinda slow. I really like Jennifer Lawrence though, so that is what made me finish it.

Happy Easter! We spent the afternoon with Wayne's family and ate some great food. Wayne hauled out more boxes to the garage of what I had packed up the day before. We watched some tv together and just hung out. It was a very nice, relaxing and low key day.

Hope everyone had a great holiday no matter if they celebrated or not.

It was my sister Amie's 14th Birthday. I went over to my parents house for dinner after work. Wayne had to work that evening, so he couldn't make it. My Mom made spaghetti and then Amie opened up her gifts. She loves to read, so my parents got her a Nook. Both my brother and I have one, so she has wanted one for awhile. I love that she is 14 and so amped to read. After chatting and teaching her a little about her Nook, we had cupcakes and ice cream.

Since all 4 of us kids were there and that doesn't always happen, we always like to try and get a good picture.

It's us 4 kids + mini me at 26 weeks.

I met my friend Laura for dinner at Champps after work. I hadn't seen her since she had Ben at the hospital. That was in February. We had tons to catch up on. For me it was mostly baby and house talk. For her it was mostly baby and wedding talk. We met up at about 6pm and didn't leave the restaurant until 10pm. 4 HOURS OF STRAIGHT TALKING! We could have definitely stayed later, but decided against it. It was so great to see her and just talk. There is nothing like having such a great friend that you have so much in common with that you can talk for 4 hours and could still keep on going.

Friday, April 8, 2011

- Friday morning I went into work late because I had my glucose tolerance test; I didn't hear anything back that day, which I took as a good sign. Not so much, they called me Monday afternoon and told me my levels are "slightly" elevated. I was at 143 and they like to see 135 or below. So Dr. E is ordering the 3 hour glucose test. Not looking forward to it, but I am going to do whatever I have to in order for this baby to be ok. I'm scheduled to go in this coming Monday, 4/18.

- I stopped at Motherhood Maternity on my way home from work and bought my first pair of maternity jeans. I thought it was about time and being as I was going out for my birthday the next night and I REALLY needed them.

- After I got home I continued my Friday night ritual of sitting on the couch watching Season 2 of Brothers & Sisters via Netflix.

- Today was my birthday.

- I got up and helped Grams take her two cockers to the Vet.

- Got home and completed my cleaning for the week.

- Took a shower and packed my overnight bag. Met Wayne at Babies R' Us to finish registering for Hailey. He gave me my diamond earrings for my birthday. We had picked them out in February and put them on layaway. I wasn't expecting them until Mother's Day. We then had dinner with my family.

- We met a few of my friends and family members at Babe's Music Bar in Lakeville. Wayne is there every Saturday night for his appearance.

Here is the group for the night: Beth, Joni, Wayne, Jenny, Dan, Al, Nicole, Dad, Me and Mom

Wayne surprised me with a cake and then proceeded to have the whole bar sing Happy Birthday to me.

And finally me with my love.

- Wayne's appearance is done at midnight, but we didn't leave until about 12:30am, didn't get back to the parents house until after 1am, which means I didn't get to bed until 1:30am. It was a long night and I even got on the dance floor for a couple songs.

Sunday, April 10, 2011

- I woke up at 10am feeling hungover, which is funny since I didn't have any alcohol. I think I was just so sore, achy and tired. I really overdid it and stayed up WAY passed my bedtime.

- After lunch with the family Wayne and I headed home and each took a much needed nap. We ate dinner and then went on a DQ run. We each ended the night watching our respective TV shows...Brothers & Sisters was a new 2 hour episode.

Great week overall and I had such a great birthday!
