On Monday's I share a make-up and/or product I have been using and
loving (and maybe not loving). I hope to share one or two
products with you every Monday that I am using or are in my make-up bag.
This week I am sharing two products. First off, is a new to me bronzer. It is the Too Faced, Chocolate Soleil. I've been using it for about a month now and really like it. It also literally smells like chocolate and was one of Allure's 2018 Best of Beauty.
Another product that I have been using and liking is a skincare product. It is the Vacuum Cleaner pore purifying mask by Dr. Brandt. It's a blue color on the skin, which is different, but my skin seems to really react well to it. So, if you are looking for a great mask by a great brand, then I would definitely give this one a try.
I am still loving my March Glambag from Ipsy. I'm STILL loving the dry shampoo and the liquid eyeliner. I've discovered so many fun products and brands and have defenitely gotten my money's worth out of this monthly Glambag.
The Details: Beauty Box 5 is $12 a month ($10/month if you do it in 3 month increments) (which is what I did) and the thing I like about it, is that you are always guaranteed 5 products. No matter what.
Brand: H20 Plus Product: Spa Sea Lotus Body Wash Retail: $17.00
This was a travel size. I loved the smell of this body wash so much. It worked really well, too. I could see myself actually buying a full size version.
Brand: Nubar Product: Cuticle & Nail Oil Retail: $10.00
This was a full size bottle (although small), it will last a long time. It also works really well, too.
This was my favorite product from the box. I only use them about once or twice a week because I feel like that is all I need, but I definitely love these.
The was another favorite product. It smells so good and glides on so well. I just love this and still use it.
Bonus Product: That Awkward Moment - Mirror Compact
I actually keep this little compact mirror in my drawer at work. It's nice to have close by if I need to check my teeth to make sure nothing is in them.
I got 3 full size products (cuticle oil, gloves & the lip balm), and two trial size products (body wash & lotion). I have used them all and will continue to use what I can. I am still loving BB5!
I wanted to share with you a few palette's that I have been eyeing up lately. I've mentioned before in a few posts that I have been getting more and more into make-up and I am hoping to show more of that part of my life.
My birthday just so happens to be this week. {Hint Hint}
I am so ashamed to admit that I do not own ANY of the Naked palette's. {Gasp} These are 3 brands and specific palette's that I hope to add to my make-up collection at some point in the future.
This was my first bag that I received from Ipsy and can I tell you for just $10/month, you get such great stuff! Plus, you can go online to your account and review products for future bags. I'm hoping the bags only get better from here.
Also, I love, love, love make-up and trying new things, so this is perfect for me.
Here is the run down of the products I got.
Brand: Pop Beauty Product: Plump Pout Mini (Lip Gloss)
I love and am such a sucker for any sort of lip product. I am NOT usually a huge fan of gloss in general, but I still used this a few times and liked the pop of color. I won't be rushing to purchase anymore, but if you are a gloss lover, then you might really like this one.
Brand: Zoya Product: Nail Polish in Odette
I was so excited to see I got a polish and Zoya specifically. I have heard of the brand, but never bought one. I love the purple color and it looked great on, too.
Brand: City Color Product: Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon
This was by far my very favorite product that I got in this bag. At first, I was thinking that the color was SUPER bright (this picture doesn't do it justice), but it looks really good on my skin and it's not as bright on as it is in the package. I will be using this blush over and over again.
Brand: skyn ICELAND Product: Fresh Start Mask with Ice Age Mud
I have not used this product yet. I don't do a whole lot of facial masks, but this is one area I am trying to improve on in my beauty regimen.
Brand: J. Cat Beauty Product: Fake Eyelashes + Glue
When I first saw these, I was kind of disappointed, just because I don't wear false lashes AT ALL, but then I was like, hey, they're free and maybe I will keep them for a fun night out or something.
Overall, I loved my glam bag and think I got my money's worth.
Do you get Ipsy? What products did you love or hate?
So I signed up for my first ever Beauty Box 5 in mid-November and it arrived in mid-December. I know I am so late with getting it posted, but I like to actually try and use the products a little bit before critiquing and with the holidays, it's just been crazy.
Beauty Box 5 is $12 a month ($10/month if you do it in 3 month increments which is what I did) and the thing I like about it, is that you are always guaranteed 5 products. No matter what. I had Birchbox in the past and just didn't feel like I was getting my moneys worth, so I cancelled that after about 6 months. Then I heard about this one and decided to try it.
The first product is by NYX Cosmetics and it is the "Love in Rio" eye shadow palette in the "En Fuengo." The three colors are gunmetal, plum and silvery lilac. I am a newbie to NYX products, but after trying this palette, I found myself on their website adding different things to my wishlist. The plum is by far my favorite. The silvery lilac is more of a light brown that gives off more of a shimmer than a color, and the gunmetal is a dark grey color that goes on heavy, so you have to be careful when applying. Retail price is $6.00.
The second product is by Body Drench and it is the daily moisturizing lotion in Sugar Cane. I absolutely love this lotion and this scent. I can't say enough good things about it. I do want to try the other scents, but I would definitely try Sugar Cane. Retail price is $8.99.
The third product is from Ofra Cosmetics and it is the Sultry lipgloss plumper. I am usually not a fan of lip pumper. They make my lips tingly and red and the color that the gloss or lipstick is supposed to give off gets over shadowed by the redness of my lips. I loved the color initially when I tried it, but the same thing happened, so I only tried it that once. Retail price is $12.95.
And finally, the fifth product is by Every Beauty and it is the Flexible Foot Smoother. The great thing about this is it is more flexible than a pumice stone, but I'm not sure if I like the texture better or not. Retail process is $4.99.
I got 4 full size products, and one trial size product. I have used and will continue to use 4 out of 5 of the products. The overall retail price of this box is $39.92, which I thought was FANTASTIC.
I'm also thinking of trying Ipsy, too, which is more make-up oriented I believe. Anyone do either BB5 or Ipsy? How do you like?
So here we are again.Yes, I got fakes put back on. I am in a wedding in April and decided I wanted them again for the shower and parties and then eventually for the wedding. I know I'm so vain, but I love having them.
Here are my nails this week:
I've almost completed two full weeks of using MyFitnessPal.
Is anyone else on there? Find me at ladanielson.
Using this app, has made me realize how much I'm eating and what I'm eating and also that working out on a daily basis affects my calories. I'm proud that since joining the gym and really committing myself back on February 16th I am down about 5 lbs. That's about a pound a week, which is HUGE for me! I can already feel it in my clothes and can tell my body is changing for the better.
I've been exercising about 3 times per week. Usually Zumba.I've also been eating better, eating smaller portions, I cut out coffee completely (for lent), am limiting soda and drinking more water. Oofta. It's all hard work, but it's really paid off so far. It's only been one month and I'm just beginning, but I feel like I've gotten a good start and want to keep on going. I've found a lot of motivation all around me from fellow bloggers to my friends to just seeing the results of it all and wanting to keep going.
This week I have been groovin to Nelly's "Hey Porsche." He is one fine lookin specimen.
I love it and crank it up anytime I hear it!
I'm so happy that Fashion Star is back! Anyone else watch it? I love Jessica Simpson. Always have and always will. I have no shame and I know she's a ditz, but girl knows her shit and no one can argue with that.
I'm excited about my two new Zumba workout tanks I got off Zulilly. I'm slowly building up my stash of new AND cute workout clothes. I've realized I don't like working out in anything else other than tanks. I just get too hot in t-shirts and I like working out if I feel like I look cute.
Also? Can we talk about cuteness, please? My friend owns a laser business and made me this cutsom iPhone 4s case. I just got it today and am in love!!!
I'm looking forward to this weekend. No really big plans. I am going to a jeans party tomorrow evening, running some errands and hopefully a little shopping at the MOA.
I'm pretty happy with my box. The Skin Transformer seems like it could be a replacement for a BB cream. I am kind of disappointed that the sample wasn't bigger or more than just two small pouches. I'm not sure I will be able to get a good feel for how it covers. Same with the lip gel. The sample is so small, I don't even know if a one time use will push me to actually want to buy it. I'm excited to use the DDF cleanser. It's a pretty big bottle, so I feel like I will get enough use out of it. I'm not much of a tea drinker, but I might actually take this tea to work and see how I like it. I'm not a fan of chololate and rasperry together, so I won't be trying this, but I think Hailey will like it. I don't have dark spots on my face where I think I need to use the Radiance Serum or that it would make that much of a difference, but I might just try it anyway and see if I notice a difference. It can't hurt, right? Overall I think I got a pretty good box. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
People do stare at me when I'm out and about because they are so bright, but I don't care!
They are Nike.
TWO:
I also got a new make-up bag and some new make-up items from E.L.F. Love it all and will be doing a separate blog post soon about my products.
Have you tried any E.L.F. products?
THREE:
I wrapped up editing 2 senior photo shoots over the weekend. What a releif.
FOUR:
Wayne went to a benefit about a month ago for a girl that died. She was super young (only 21 or 22) and her Grandma makes these blankets and gave one to us for Hailey. The whole family is so nice and thoughtful. She has made these blankets for all her grandkids and they all love them so much that they end up bringing them to college even. She said she would only give one to Wayne if he went straight home and wrapped his little girl in it. I thought that was so sweet and it is so perfect for Hailey.
FIVE:
I finally found a good toy holder for the shower/tub. I just didn't like any of the ones I was finding, but finally found this one at Target of all places.
SIX:
My Husband's birthday was at the beginning of August and so he needed to get his license renewed.
Here is his before and after:
So crazy to see how much weight he's lost. Way to go hunny!
SEVEN:
Don't get me wrong, I love my SUV and I've always said I would NEVER get a mini-van or be a mini-van Mom. But I have to say I see the appeal now more than ever and I am questioning if maybe I should have gotten a mini-van instead of my SUV. For instance the 3rd row seating. That is the one thing I think I would love as I cart around my two sisters, Hailey and hopefully at some point at least 1 more kid. I know there are SUV's that have the 3 row seating, but most of them are $1 million and to fill the tank is another $1 million.
EIGHT:
I thought having a kid was supposed to make you a morning person? Wrong. Not in my case. If anything it's made me regress further into NOT being a morning person.
NINE:
Anyone else love this guy and this song? I know he won American Idol, but I didn't watch it. I REALLY like this song. And I guess he's not bad looking either.
TEN:
I have recently changed my Danielson Photography website into a blog now and have been working with a blog designer to re-vamp. So excited. This is the proof she sent me and I will be re-launching it soon.
ELEVEN:
I'm thinking about getting a paper planner again. I don't know 100% why yet. I've been trying to be totally electronic since I got my iPhone last year and I don't really use the calendar at home (mostly because I don't like it). There are a few places that I have seen and looked into...Erin Condren and Paper Coterie.
Any thoughts?
TWELVE:
A couple weeks ago I got this new purse.
I needed a smaller one for concerts and going out and for times I don't feel like lugging around a larger one. Since I got it, I've been trying to downsize and really only use this one. So far so good. It can still be challenging at times to manage all my stuff, but so far it's working out all right. I'm still trying to get used to a smaller bag and only bringing with me the minimal.
THIRTEEN:
I took off my fake nails about a month ago and while I LOVE them when they are on, my nails look like shit crap when they come off. I got a gel manicure which was all fine, but the place I went to only had the OPI gel polish and I have never had good luck with it staying on and not peeling.
Well, needless to say only a few days later they all peeled off. I plan on going again, but will be going back to my place and getting the CND gel polish.
FOURTEEN:
I got into a mood yesterday and cleaned. Not only did I do my regular cleaning, but I also did the "move all the furniture and clean behind things" cleaning. I get into this winter hibernation mode, where I want to clean and purge. So I did and it felt great. I also got out the halloween decorations. Too early? I don't care
FIFTEEN:
Now with the weather getting cooler, I have packed up most of Hailey's too small/summer clothes as well as her sandals. Very bitter-sweet, but that means time for new stuff! Yay! Here are 2 new pairs of shoes.
Gramma Kimmy got these:
And I got these from Target.
I also got her a snow pant/jacket set. It was on sale and too cute. I couldn't pass it up. Love it!!
Now I just need boots for her and me!
SIXTEEN:
Anybody else love fall tv as much as I do? I'm loving that most of my shows are back...Revenge, New Girl, Parenthood. The list goes on and on! Also, did you see who the next Bachelor is? Sean!
Not sure how I feel about it. I didn't think he had much of a personality, but I felt the same way about Emily and ended up loving her. And I know I will watch it. I always do.
SEVENTEEN:
My cousin asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. I"M SO EXCITED!! She was in my wedding cica 2006.
And now I will be in hers! She's getting married in April 2013. I went and ordered my dress and picked it up last week. The color is lapas...purplish and it is one shoulder.
Forgive me for the horrible photos.
And here is a picture of her German Shepard puppy, Duke.
