So with the start of the new year I decided to purchase glasses that filter out the blue light from the computer. I sit and look at a computer all day at my full-time job and then if I do any work in the evenings at home with the blog or just general computer browsing, that is additional time in front of the screen everyday.
I do get frequent headaches and occasionally suffer from aura migraines. If you ever have had an aura migraine, you know that they are not fun.
I have been thinking about getting some version of these glasses for quite sometime as I have always worked in front of the computer, but I just hadn't pulled the trigger yet.
Until the New Year.
I had been seeing a lot about them recently. A few people I follow on social media and a few bloggers have them and have had great reviews. They are not expensive at all ($20 from Amazon) and they are super cute. So I pulled the trigger and ordered them.
I've only had them for a few days, so it will take some time to figure out if they really work for me or not, but it can't hurt trying right? Especially when they're this cute? I'll keep you updated.
I'm linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday!
I'm Loving... my new coach purse from an Instagram Mom that I follow. I have been looking for one like it forever and it just happened that she posted a picture and I replied and it all worked out.
Since becoming a Mom, I have become a fan of the cross-body purse style.
I'm Loving...my new tall boots from Heartbreaker. I got them a couple weeks ago in brown, but now I want them in black, too. SShh, don't tell the Hubs.
I'm Loving...that I finally got to meet Ms. Mallory Lynn Mahoney. We had dinner with the Mahoney's last week when they were in town for a long weekend. We usually try and get together with them to catch up while they are in town. They live in Kansas. It's always fun and she is just the cutest little peanut!
I'm Loving...that my Hubs picked out new earrings for Hailey with no help from me.
He did a great job and is the cutest Dad ever for picking out new ones for her.
I'm Loving...all my E.L.F. cosmetics that I have gotten so far AND that they don't test their products on animals. I will be doing a review soon.
I'm Loving...my Hubs making breakfast for me in the mornings sometimes.
I'm Loving...this:
I can't wait for election season to be over.
I'm Loving...that I can find Walden Farms products at Rainbow Foods.
I recently started to grocery shop their more often because it is right by Hailey's daycare. I don't know if I could always find them their, but it was a relief to know that I don't have to go 2 places if I don't need to.
That's about it for now. Happy Hump Day and have a great week!
I'm pretty happy with my box. The Skin Transformer seems like it could be a replacement for a BB cream. I am kind of disappointed that the sample wasn't bigger or more than just two small pouches. I'm not sure I will be able to get a good feel for how it covers. Same with the lip gel. The sample is so small, I don't even know if a one time use will push me to actually want to buy it. I'm excited to use the DDF cleanser. It's a pretty big bottle, so I feel like I will get enough use out of it. I'm not much of a tea drinker, but I might actually take this tea to work and see how I like it. I'm not a fan of chololate and rasperry together, so I won't be trying this, but I think Hailey will like it. I don't have dark spots on my face where I think I need to use the Radiance Serum or that it would make that much of a difference, but I might just try it anyway and see if I notice a difference. It can't hurt, right? Overall I think I got a pretty good box. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
People do stare at me when I'm out and about because they are so bright, but I don't care!
They are Nike.
TWO:
I also got a new make-up bag and some new make-up items from E.L.F. Love it all and will be doing a separate blog post soon about my products.
Have you tried any E.L.F. products?
THREE:
I wrapped up editing 2 senior photo shoots over the weekend. What a releif.
FOUR:
Wayne went to a benefit about a month ago for a girl that died. She was super young (only 21 or 22) and her Grandma makes these blankets and gave one to us for Hailey. The whole family is so nice and thoughtful. She has made these blankets for all her grandkids and they all love them so much that they end up bringing them to college even. She said she would only give one to Wayne if he went straight home and wrapped his little girl in it. I thought that was so sweet and it is so perfect for Hailey.
FIVE:
I finally found a good toy holder for the shower/tub. I just didn't like any of the ones I was finding, but finally found this one at Target of all places.
SIX:
My Husband's birthday was at the beginning of August and so he needed to get his license renewed.
Here is his before and after:
So crazy to see how much weight he's lost. Way to go hunny!
SEVEN:
Don't get me wrong, I love my SUV and I've always said I would NEVER get a mini-van or be a mini-van Mom. But I have to say I see the appeal now more than ever and I am questioning if maybe I should have gotten a mini-van instead of my SUV. For instance the 3rd row seating. That is the one thing I think I would love as I cart around my two sisters, Hailey and hopefully at some point at least 1 more kid. I know there are SUV's that have the 3 row seating, but most of them are $1 million and to fill the tank is another $1 million.
EIGHT:
I thought having a kid was supposed to make you a morning person? Wrong. Not in my case. If anything it's made me regress further into NOT being a morning person.
NINE:
Anyone else love this guy and this song? I know he won American Idol, but I didn't watch it. I REALLY like this song. And I guess he's not bad looking either.
TEN:
I have recently changed my Danielson Photography website into a blog now and have been working with a blog designer to re-vamp. So excited. This is the proof she sent me and I will be re-launching it soon.
ELEVEN:
I'm thinking about getting a paper planner again. I don't know 100% why yet. I've been trying to be totally electronic since I got my iPhone last year and I don't really use the calendar at home (mostly because I don't like it). There are a few places that I have seen and looked into...Erin Condren and Paper Coterie.
Any thoughts?
TWELVE:
A couple weeks ago I got this new purse.
I needed a smaller one for concerts and going out and for times I don't feel like lugging around a larger one. Since I got it, I've been trying to downsize and really only use this one. So far so good. It can still be challenging at times to manage all my stuff, but so far it's working out all right. I'm still trying to get used to a smaller bag and only bringing with me the minimal.
THIRTEEN:
I took off my fake nails about a month ago and while I LOVE them when they are on, my nails look like shit crap when they come off. I got a gel manicure which was all fine, but the place I went to only had the OPI gel polish and I have never had good luck with it staying on and not peeling.
Well, needless to say only a few days later they all peeled off. I plan on going again, but will be going back to my place and getting the CND gel polish.
FOURTEEN:
I got into a mood yesterday and cleaned. Not only did I do my regular cleaning, but I also did the "move all the furniture and clean behind things" cleaning. I get into this winter hibernation mode, where I want to clean and purge. So I did and it felt great. I also got out the halloween decorations. Too early? I don't care
FIFTEEN:
Now with the weather getting cooler, I have packed up most of Hailey's too small/summer clothes as well as her sandals. Very bitter-sweet, but that means time for new stuff! Yay! Here are 2 new pairs of shoes.
Gramma Kimmy got these:
And I got these from Target.
I also got her a snow pant/jacket set. It was on sale and too cute. I couldn't pass it up. Love it!!
Now I just need boots for her and me!
SIXTEEN:
Anybody else love fall tv as much as I do? I'm loving that most of my shows are back...Revenge, New Girl, Parenthood. The list goes on and on! Also, did you see who the next Bachelor is? Sean!
Not sure how I feel about it. I didn't think he had much of a personality, but I felt the same way about Emily and ended up loving her. And I know I will watch it. I always do.
SEVENTEEN:
My cousin asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. I"M SO EXCITED!! She was in my wedding cica 2006.
And now I will be in hers! She's getting married in April 2013. I went and ordered my dress and picked it up last week. The color is lapas...purplish and it is one shoulder.
Forgive me for the horrible photos.
And here is a picture of her German Shepard puppy, Duke.
I wasn't super impressed with this box. I don't use blotting sheets, so I'm not sure I will ever use these, but I guess I can keep them on hand for awhile to see. I wasn't a fan of the Color Club Custom Color that I received. Too green for me. I do like the Body Whip. Smells yummy and is very moisurizing. I could see myself actually buying it. The twistband hair tie is great and adds a little color. I do wear my hair up often, so it will defenitely come in handy, but they are a little pricey. I haven't tried the WEI prodcut yet, alhtough I heard it's amazing. Not sure what I will use the tili bag for. It might come in handy for traveling purposes. Not sure though if it's worth keeping around for that though. Overall I guess it wasn't too bad of a box. I would rate it a 3 out of 5 stars. Can't wait for next month!
If you are not familiar with Birchbox and don't know what it is...basically for $10 a month they send you some trial sizes (possibly a full size product) of various beauty products.
This is my box this month:
All the links will take you directly to the products on the Birchbox website.

With my new tattoo and summertime I need to remember to put sunscreen on it. This is a moisturizer and sunscreen in one, which will be great for my tattoo. The little packet will come in handy to keep in my purse and they sell a travel size if I do end up liking it.
I love the color, but I don't paint my nails. I have fakes right now, too, but once I get them off, I might start painting them and try this color. We'll see.
