All right. I have so many ideas floating around in my head AND on paper and I just feel like I never have time to get them written out or put into a blog post. I was so good the first half of January and then just fell off the wagon again the last month or so. I guess that's life right?

 photo One_zps82e90047.jpg

First off, one of the major reasons I have been so MIA the last couple weeks, is Wayne has been working afternoons. Lucas had hip surgery, which means my Husband gets to do afternoons and be off at 6pm! Woohoo! It's been so nice having him home in the evenings and eating together and just having a few extra hours in the day with him. He went back to nights yesterday. Wah! Needless to say, I was trying to hang out with him more and NOT be glued to my electronics.

 photo Two_zps9480eae5.jpg

Also, with that comes TV time with the Hubs. Our big show is The Walking Dead and we are so excited it's back. But I just don't know how I feel about it after these first 2 episodes back. I feel too much is changing too fast and now seeing previews for next week, they are introducing even more people and more of a twist. Gah! I did watch Talking Dead, so that always helps me understand everything so much better. Do you watch Walking Dead, and if so, do you watch Talking Dead, too?

I have been more into make-up lately. When I say lately, I mean probably the last 4ish months or so. I have been wasting too much time watching various youtube channels obsessing over make-up and products and how to use different things and all the different terminology. This is another reason why I can't get a blog post up. I rather be watching videos than doing anything else. I will say, as much as I LOVE my Mom, she never actually taught me how to do my make-up. I am self taught and not well I might add. It has been an area that I've always wanted to improve and I am slowly. Don't get me wrong, I have always LOVED make-up products and have WAY too much, but watching some of these youtube videos I have grown so much in and it has opened up this whole new world to me. I want to start showcasing that a little more here on my little piece of the internet.

 photo Four_zps42652784.jpg

I am STILL loving my MK purse. Love, love, love.

 photo MK1_zps3cf63ac5.png

It's just a great size and fits everything in it just perfect (which is a lot). I'm hoping to get a "What's In My Purse" video up soon. Which is another thing that I've been wanting to start...VIDEOS!!!!

I went to BBC back in October and they talked and stressed about adding videos to your blog to make it more personal and I just have been putting it on the back burner, but there is no time like the present, right?

 photo Five_zps374c392c.jpg

And last, but not least. Do you remember this jacket? The one I got at the beginning of January? I posted it on Instagram. I was SO VERY EXCITED about it cause it was so comfy and warm and covered my bum?

 photo Jacket_zpsdc32f5cc.png

Well, I had to return it already because it was falling apart. Literally, tearing from the seams. So sad!!

Above are the arm holes and this is the hood.

 photo IMG_8728_zpsacfdb996.png

There was also a pretty big tear in one of the pockets, too. I was just so fed up with it that I returned it. Boo!

That's about it for now. I hope everyone had a wonderful week! Happy Friday Friends!

Gosh darn, I love her! As I am getting more and more into country music, I am learning more and more that I adore Miranda Lambert. When doing my "research" for this song on her website and youtube, etc., I watched so many different videos of her and my love for her grew even more.

One of my favorite songs of hers is "Gunpowder and Lead."I think it's just a classic bad ass fan favorite song. I couldn't find the actual music video, but I liked this one, so I went with it.

I also watched this video of her on Chelsea Lately.

How awesome is she? She also makes me want to go to the shooting range!!

1. What is your favorite thing to watch on a girls night?

Usually when I get together with my girlfriends it is to watch either True Blood, The Bachelor/ette or an awards show like the Oscars or Grammy's.

2. What is your favorite thing to watch on your day off?

Usually something off my DVR.That list can be seen HERE.

3. What is your favorite thing to watch when you’re sick?

Pretty much the same answer as number 2.

4. What is the last movie you saw in the theater?

Umm, I haven't been to the theater in such a long time. I honestly can't remember.

5. What are your top three favorite movies or TV shows?

Oh, I can't pick just three of each. You can see my current fave tv shows HERE and my top movies are ones that I have seen, but can watch over and over and over again and never get sick of. A few examples are The Notebook (or any Nicholas Sparks movie), Sweet Home Alabama, Stupid Crazy Love, The Proposal and Pretty Woman.

Happy Friday friends!

Linking up with Darci and friends for 5 on Friday!

 photo One_zps82e90047.jpg

I've been meaning to blog every day this week, but just can't seem to focus. It's cold again here this week and it just really sucks. All it makes me want to do when I get home from work is snuggle under a blanket (or in bed) and cuddle with my girl.

 photo Cuddles_zpse3f78a61.png

I giggle at all the peeps down in TX, because it's "cold" down there (19 degrees) and "snowing." Ha! If they only knew!!

 photo Two_zps9480eae5.jpg

A couple weekends ago I invested in a humidifier. The air has been so harsh up here this winter with it being so cold all the time. This sits on Hailey's nightstand, I make sure it's filled up every night before bed (usually it needs it every other night), and it runs all night in her room.

 photo Humidifier_zps29f4d2ae.png

Let me tell you how awesome it has been. I originally got it because I could tell Hailey had a croup cough starting after we got a notice about it at her school. I did some research and they said to get a cool humidifier, not one of those hot vapor ones. So that's what I did. I paid $26 for this bad boy at Wallymarts, mostly just to see if it would work and it's been perfect. If I want it can be "portable," which means I can put it in the living room or where ever we are hanging out in the house. Her cough loosened up over night. She went a couple days with a regular cough/runny nose and then has been good since then. No trip to the Dr or anything. That's a win in my book.

 photo Three_zpsa0c16959.jpg

I got my purse that I mentioned in this post.

 photo MK_zpse917134d.png

I love everything about it and now am a huge MK fan. Why did I wait so long?

 photo MK1_zps3cf63ac5.png

Sorry Coach.

 photo Four_zps42652784.jpg

So this happened last night.

 photo Preschool_zpsefc6e8d0.png

I know EVERY Mom says this, but it's so true. I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVE A CHILD OLD ENOUGH FOR THIS. Gah. She won't officially move over into that particular class room until June, but she's already spent a few days in there because she's one of the older ones in her classroom right now. Brain. Exploding.

 photo Five_zps374c392c.jpg

My Husband posted this on my Facebook wall. He thought he was SO funny. And he is. Why am I the only one she does this to?

 photo Mom_zps806f3531.jpg

I thought it was hilarious, too, I have to admit and so true. This is Hailey to a T and reminds me of the Family Guy episoide where Stewie is badgering Lois...

Can anybody else relate? I sure can!

3 Tips for the Instagram User

3 Tips for the Instagram User
Monday, February 3, 2014
Read post
 photo 3TipsforInsta_zps13557ce9.jpg

When I pull up a new account that I am thinking of following, I try and give them the benefit of the doubt. I try and not judge an account by it's pictures, even though sometimes it can be hard.  Here are my 3 very simple guidelines when following or unfollowing an Instagram account.

 photo One_zps82e90047.jpg

Visual Portfolio of Your Life.

I want to see a life. Not just things or products or food, but people, too. Actual people doing actual things. Of course I like seeing those products or food items, etc., but I also like seeing that there is an actual person (or family) behind the account that I can connect with and not just a robot. Which brings me to my second point.

 photo Two_zps9480eae5.jpg

Connect.

One of the things I like most about Instagram is the connection with other people. I like looking at a moment in their day, week, or life and either learning something FROM them or relating TO them somehow. I like when people comment on my pictures (obviously), but I like it even more when I comment on other people's pictures and actually get some sort of response from them. Even if it's a simple "Thanks." A small acknowledgment goes a long way and it helps me strengthen not only blogger relationships, but real life relationships as well.

 photo Three_zpsa0c16959.jpg

Make it Inviting.

This one is a two in one. This not only relates to the pictures in the feed itself, but your account as a whole. If that makes any sense. By no means do the pictures have to be fancy (you all know mine are not), but I guess what I'm trying to say is also be vulnerable. It's not about making just the pictures somewhat appealing to look at visually, but being honest, genuine and open with your life as a whole.

 photo Insta_zpsf42b092f.jpg

Pretty simple, right? Now go Instagram!!

Excited: for my new purse to arrive!! Hurry up and Merry Christmas to me!!

 photo MKTote_zpsc9ec0ceb.png

Reading: blog posts. I've been trying to keep my Bloglovin feed under 100. We'll see how long it lasts.

Creating: blog posts. Trying to get caught up as usual.

Loving: my hair. Got a fresh cut and color a couple weekends ago and also went back to the side part instead of the middle part.

 photo Hair_zpsbc730cd5.png

Also, Loving: dinner dates with this little lady:

 photo Noodles_zpsebf96a0c.jpg

Hating: the busy-ness of the gym this time of year. I get it that everyone has to start somewhere, it's just annoying. Looking forward to February when it goes back to normal.

Also, Hating: how grown up Hailey looks after getting a hair cut. Seriously? Just stop.

 photo Haileycut_zps773b8581.jpg

Wondering: when we will get our new medical insurance cards in the mail. I need to make an appointment stat!!

Eating: lots. What am I not? Snacking on these...

 photo CrushCollage_zps4a99a735.jpg

Drinking: orange soda...any kind...am a little addicted lately. I haven't had any Coca Cola in about 2 weeks. Gasp.

Craving: a snickers bar. Per usual.

Hoping: to maybe see a movie this weekend with the Hubs.

Watching on TV: what am I NOT watching. See THIS post.

Listening to: just about everything under the sun, including this:

 photo BS_zpsef41db00.jpg

Wearing: I've been wearing a lot of tunics and fleece lined leggings. Obsessed with both this winter.

  photo Outfit1_zps4b79af0d.jpg

Looking forward to: Taking Hailey to Sesame Street on Saturday morning. We took her last year, and I'm wondering if she will still like it as much as she did last year.

Feeling: Pretty good. My favorite Zumba teacher has been on vacation, so the gym is just not the same without her. Boo.

Weather: Not as cold as it was at the beginning of January, but apparently the Polar Vortex is coming back. Yay! < < sarcasm

Wanting: a warm vacation. Like yesterday.

Needing: a new phone and service. Both have been pretty crappy as of late.Hopefully soon.

Thinking: about house hunting this spring.

Enjoying: My low key weekends. Haven't had any major plans and it has been so nice after the busy holiday season.

This weekend was pretty low key, but great.

 photo Friday_zps9b18738b.jpg

Friday night consisted of Hailey and I going grocery shopping. So fun, right? I found these soft pretzel's at Aldi, which made my weekend. Pretty sad when a soft pretzel has that much impact. It's the small things.

Saturday I got some stuff done around the house in the morning (read: my nails) and then headed out to our friends Dawn & Adam's house for the night. We ate, we drank, and we laughed. The kids played, the Husband's watched TV, and us ladies chatted. It was so fun and I am so thankful for not only these ladies, but their children and families and the friendships we have all created.

 photo GNO_zps7516533b.jpg

Oh yea, and we bought a couch for $200 on craigslist. Woo-hoo.

 photo Couch_zpsb219e98c.jpg

 photo Sunday_zps99ad902f.jpg

Sunday consisted of being pretty lazy, watching shows and football, eating way too much junk and all around just hanging out. It was pretty great.

How was your weekend?

Beauty Box 5 {December 2013}

Beauty Box 5 {December 2013}
Thursday, January 16, 2014
Read post
So I signed up for my first ever Beauty Box 5 in mid-November and it arrived in mid-December. I know I am so late with getting it posted, but I like to actually try and use the products a little bit before critiquing and with the holidays, it's just been crazy.

 photo BB5_zps20137980.png

Beauty Box 5 is $12 a month ($10/month if you do it in 3 month increments which is what I did) and the thing I like about it, is that you are always guaranteed 5 products. No matter what. I had Birchbox in the past and just didn't feel like I was getting my moneys worth, so I cancelled that after about 6 months. Then I heard about this one and decided to try it.

 photo BB52_zps24967e2a.png

 photo One_zps82e90047.jpg

The first product is by NYX Cosmetics and it is the "Love in Rio" eye shadow palette in the "En Fuengo." The three colors are gunmetal, plum and silvery lilac. I am a newbie to NYX products, but after trying this palette, I found myself on their website adding different things to my wishlist. The plum is by far my favorite. The silvery lilac is more of a light brown that gives off more of a shimmer than a color, and the gunmetal is a dark grey color that goes on heavy, so you have to be careful when applying. Retail price is $6.00.

 photo LoveinRio_zpsaeba94f3.jpg

 photo Two_zps9480eae5.jpg

The second product is by Body Drench and it is the daily moisturizing lotion in Sugar Cane. I absolutely love this lotion and this scent. I can't say enough good things about it. I do want to try the other scents, but I would definitely try Sugar Cane. Retail price is $8.99.

 photo SugarCane_zps9b233301.jpg

 photo Three_zpsa0c16959.jpg

The third product is from Ofra Cosmetics and it is the Sultry lipgloss plumper. I am usually not a fan of lip pumper. They make my lips tingly and red and the color that the gloss or lipstick is supposed to give off gets over shadowed by the redness of my lips. I loved the color initially when I tried it, but the same thing happened, so I only tried it that once. Retail price is $12.95.

 photo OfraLipPumper_zps5d63019a.jpg

 photo Four_zps42652784.jpg

The fourth product is by Clean & Clear and it is the Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. I wasn't super impressed with this product and didn't really care for the smell of it, but am glad I tried something other than my usual ADVANTAGE Acne Control Moisturizer. Retail price is $6.99

 photo Morningburst_zps76fb1778.jpg

 photo Five_zps374c392c.jpg

And finally, the fifth product is by Every Beauty and it is the Flexible Foot Smoother. The great thing about this is it is more flexible than a pumice stone, but I'm not sure if I like the texture better or not. Retail process is $4.99.

 photo FootSmoother_zps42913b0e.jpg

I got 4 full size products, and one trial size product. I have used and will continue to use 4 out of 5 of the products. The overall retail price of this box is $39.92, which I thought was FANTASTIC.

I'm also thinking of trying Ipsy, too, which is more make-up oriented I believe. Anyone do either BB5 or Ipsy? How do you like?
