Since my sisters Spring Break started today, they decided they wanted to come come spend Thursday night and Friday night with us. Great, I thought. I got a babysitter.

So I met two of my girlfriends for dinner and a movie. We ate at Mongos. So good. I hadn't been there in awhile and I forgot how delicious it really was. I'm craving it right now as I'm typing.

We ended up seeing Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

Photobucket

 I'm not a fan of fishing, but I loved it. It's a very touching story and I cried at the end.

Saturday, March 31, 2012

I wasn't feeling the best on Saturday, so having my sisters there helping with Hailey was great. I did get to sleep in on and off until 11:30 am and then we pretty much just hung out all day. With my sisters there I had made big plans to clean, go tanning, go get my nails done, go to Target, go to the Post Office, but I basically got 2 loads of laundry done, and that was about it. Kind of a waste of a day. I ended up going to bed early because I did not want to feel gross on Sunday, too.

Today was WRESTLEMANIA day.

Photobucket

It's basically the Superbowl for professional wrestling and a holiday in my house. My Husband has loved wrestling forever and does a local wrestling radio show. We had invited people over and had a full house for most of the day. The big match of the night was the "Once in a Lifetime" match with John Cena versus The Rock. I'm not going to explain anything further because if you don't like wrestling, you won't care and if you do like wrestling you already know what happened. So we'll just leave it at that.

Photobucket

MGK performed his song "Invincible." Although the actual song features Ester Dean as the female voice, Skylar Grey was there instead. I really like the song. It was John Cena's theme song.

Flo Rida also performed. That was pretty cool.

Photobucket

I love this song: Flo Rida feat Sia - "Wild Ones"
Can you tell music rules my world? Overall it was a great weekend! How was yours?

I didn't feel like linking up with anyone today, but a blog I follow does a Midweek Randoms post just about every week, so I think I might start doing that, too. Maybe not every Wednesday and maybe not every week even, but we'll see.

1. I am ub-sessed with this song by Carly Rae Jepsen and I like this video better than the actual music video. I like Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, BTR and well, the list goes on and on, so I think that's why I love this video so much. I do love JB's new single "Boyfriend," but I cannot get myself passed this song yet. I have it on repeat. I know. Can you say dork?!

2. I am ub-sessed with my iPad...The New iPad, not iPad 3. I've had it for about a week and a half and am loving how convenient it really is. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do, but I find myself turning it on first thing when I come home. It's so much more convenient than our laptop. It was my early Bday gift from the Hubs (Thanks Honey!) Go watch the Apple video HERE!

Photobucket

3. I love this little girl more than words and I love that the $10.00 Leapfrog Learn and Groove Musical Table that I got from Once Upon a Child worked when I finally put batteries in it. She is standing ALL THE TIME and loves it! So needless to say I got this just in time.

Photobucket

4. I love so many things about this photo that my Hubby posted on Instagram. Yes, he finally signed up and you can follow him. His username is bigdradio

Photobucket

This photo represents:

Grilling outside;
Great weather in Minnesota;
My Husband cooking and more importantly still sticking to his lifestyle change (not calling it a diet anymore); and
Grilling = no dirty pots/pans to clean up afterwards.

Yay!

5. I am so excited that two of my friends found out they are having girls! Yay for babies and yay for playmates for Hailey! My co-worker (now ex-coworker - she got a new and better job) brought us cupcakes a couple weeks ago to announce. They were delish!

Photobucket

6. I love this picture and frame my Dad found for our 5 generation photo. I am not loving the reason he bought it. My Great-Great Grandma has been in Hospice since mid-February. I'm so thankful we got to visit her in October and she got to meet Hailey. It will be great to have this memory for her when she gets older.

Photobucket

7. I love face-timing while I'm at work. I love seeing my loves during the day.

Photobucket

8. I'm enjoying that everyone seems to be Team Peeta, but I am still Team Gale. You can have Peeta. I'll take Gale any day!

Photobucket

I also love that the Hubs is now reading the books, too!

9. I'm super excited that Green Grandma is coming to visit in April for a week and a half. We haven't seen her (besides Skype) since she moved to AZ in October.

10. I've started watching Game of Thrones on HBO. Wayne and I are catching up on Season 1. S2 starts on Sunday. I really like it. Anybody else watching it?

Photobucket

That's all for right now!

I had this post ready to go yesterday, but I had to get some pics off of my camera first.

So here is my weekend recap.

Friday, March 23, 2012

After work, I went home and cleaned our house. Wayne helped, too. We were having a friend's surprise birthday party at our house Sunday afternoon and I had plans to be gone all day Saturday, so I knew I had to get it done. I never clean on Friday nights, I usually leave it for Saturdays, but that might have to change.I liked not having to clean Saturday or Sunday (minus the few touch-ups right before the party).

Even though I usually like relaxing Friday nights after a long work week, I might have to start Friday nights as cleaning nights. That way I can have the rest of the weekend off.

When do you clean and why?

Wayne left for his gig and after getting Hailey to sleep, I went to bed. I was getting up to meet my Mom at the movie theater for Hunger Games the next morning. I was so excited!

Saturday, March 24, 2012

I dropped Hails off at my parents house and we went to the noon showing of The Hunger Games.

Did you see it? Did you like it?

Photobucket

I was a little disappointed. There, I said it. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, and you will too, if you've read the books. If you didn't read the books, you won't get it. Plain and simple. I think most of my disappointment came from the lack of character development. I guess I just wanted more.

What did you think?

After the movie we went back to my parents house and my Aunt Cindy and Gramma Sharon came over and we played train dominoes and ate foods. I stayed up way passed my bedtime and paid for it on Sunday.

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Can you say crabby?

The Hubs had an appearance at the Mall of America, so he left me to pretty much get ready for the party all on my own. Needless to say, I was irritated + tired = one crabby Mama.

It ended up all working out. Everything was ready. People showed up. Birthday Boy showed up. We grilled, ate foods, sang Happy Birthday, ate cake and laughed. I met some new, cool people.

Photobucket

Overall it was a busy, but great weekend!

 Yesterday was a busy day, so I didn't get this out, but here is our weekend recap:

Friday, March 16, 2012

After work, Wayne and I decided to go to Red Lobster for dinner. I had been wanting it for a couple weeks, so we went. It was yummy and wonderful and Hailey did great and tried a couple new things.

We pretty much got home in just enough time for Hubs to change and leave for the night. I caught up on some blogs after getting Hailey to sleep and went to bed fairly early because I knew I had  to get up to be at my Mom's friend Rachel's house for a Norwex party! Yay!

Saturday, March 17, 2012

While Hubs worked all day, Hailey and I got up Saturday morning and headed to my Mom's friend, Rachel's house for a Norwex party. If you don't know what Norwex is and want to learn more, read my post HERE! I will be doing an updated Norwex post in the next day or so!

Hailey was spending the night at my parents house (because we were having a date night), so after the Norwex party I dropped her off at my parents house. I then went to Costco and did my weekly shopping, stopped at our fave baker and ordered a birthday cake for next week, and got home and unpacked everything in just enough time for the Hubs to get off work.

Let our date night begin! We went to my fave nail salon and got pedicures. We then had dinner at Crave (West End). We had planned on seeing 21 Jumpstreet, but ended up seeing Safe House.

Photobucket

I'm glad we did, because it was great. Both of us really loved it. We then went home, hung out and went to bed. I wanted to make sure I took advantage of not having to get up, so I wanted to make sure I got some good sleep. And I did. It was wonderful!

Sunday, March 18, 2012

We had planned all week to get up, go pick up Hailey and then head to the Mall of America for a family fun day of shopping. Boy did we have a great day! I got a new GUESS purse, Wayne got a new pair of Oakley sunglasses, Hailey got her ears pierced...AND we got the new IPAD!! It was quite the eventful trip. We spent from about 12:30p - 4:30p walking around. It was long, but fun.

The IPAD is my birthday present this year (a month early). I love that he spoils me!

After we got home, I did some cleaning, TV watching and IPAD playing, while Wayne went over to Adam's house to watch the Walking Dead Season 2 finale. He was disappointed by the finale, but when Season 2 comes out, we are going to watch it again together, since I have to get caught up before season 3.

It was such a great weekend!!! How was yours?

 Friday, March 9, 2012

I went home after work, ate dinner with the Hubs and daughter and then we got caught up on two of our favorite shows: Jersey Shore and Eastbound and Down. Anybody else watch those? I'm not a huge E&D fan, but we started watching it together season 1, so I kept with it and now it's on its final season. It's one of those things that I just want to finish and it's nice having at least a few TV shows with the Hubs that we both enjoy watching.

Hubs left at about 9pm for his Friday night gig and I caught up on some blogs after getting the babe to sleep. I then went to bed because I knew I had a big day of spring "cleaning" planned for Saturday. Oh what fun!

Saturday, March 10, 2012

I received our Merry Maids gift card last week in the mail (from Hailey winning a cutest kid contest) and I am planning on getting a "deep" clean done through them by the end of this month, so even though my house REALLY needs it, I just did my basic cleaning routine, along with organizing and going through things. I woke up and got right into it. I had all the blinds and shades open throughout the house and all the windows open for awhile, too. I can't believe it got up to 66* in Minnesota in March!

I did all the usual vacuuming, dusting, bathroom wipe down, bed sheet washing, etc, but then I went through some of my clothes/shoes and then I did a basic overhaul of Hailey's room. She's officially out of 3-6 month/6 month clothes and growing into 6-9 month/9 month clothes, so I went through her dresser and closet and came up with an over-flowing laundry basket of too small clothes of hers that I need to now organize and pack away. One step at a time, right?

Some things in our house that still need to be done for "spring" cleaning?
  • Merry Maids deep clean;
  • Backyard doggy poo clean-up (on-going);
  • Carpets cleaned;
  • Kitchen deep clean;
  • Vacuum cleaner deep clean;
  • Dog kennels deep clean;
What is your spring cleaning routine?

Late afternoon rolled around and I found a great point to stop, so I took a shower and then a friend texted me to see if I wanted to go see the new Kristen Wiig movie with her and our other friend. I dropped Hailey off at my Mom's and met up with them.

Photobucket

I loved it and cried in a few different parts. I thought it was super realistic and had a great mixture of funny, dramatic and serious parts. It was a great way to end my Saturday.

Sunday, March 11, 2012

We woke up, took showers and went to brunch (just the three of us) at a local place by our house. When we got home Hailey went down for a nap, as did I, and Hubs bummed around in his man cave for a couple hours. When we woke up, we finished the last three episodes of season one of The Walking Dead. Now I just have to wait for season two to come out and get caught up on that before season 3 starts in the fall. My Hubs is so into the show and wanted me to be, too, so I thought I would give it a try and I actually really like it. Anybody else watch it?

After finishing up with that, we folded AND put away about 4 loads of laundry and then I ended the night catching up on Revenge and going through the Sunday paper. I had about 6 episodes in my DVR and got through 4. Woohoo! I love that show!!

Photobucket

Overall it was a great and more importantly a productive weekend.

Happy Monday!

Friday, 03.02.2012

Friday night I ran a few errands (Michaels and Target) before going home.

I then went home, ate dinner with the Hubs and hung out with Hailey. Hubs left at 9pm like usual and by that time Hailey was down for the night, too, so I surfed the net for awhile, before heading to bed rather early. It was a normal (low key) Friday night for me.

Saturday, 03.03.2012

I packed up Hailey, dropped her of at my parents house and then went to Amanda and Greg's house for the maternity photo shoot. Amanda is 38 weeks pregnant, so it was really fun. I did their engagement photos in the fall of 2010, their wedding in June 2011 and now they are expecting a little boy in a couple weeks. Once I get the pictures edited, I will do a separate post about that. It was fun though and I had a great time.

I then stopped at Target again to grab a few things I had missed the night before and then went and hung out with my family at my parents house. We watched Crazy, Stupid Love.

Photobucket

Hubby took me to it when it first came out, but my Mom and sister had not seen it yet What?! I couldn't believe it, so we watched it. Plus, who doesn't love Ryan Gosling??

I strategically plan that Hailey and I head home at bedtime, always making sure she is fed beforehand. She falls asleep in the car on the way home, I transfer her gracefully to her crib and then she is was out for the night. I knew Lindsay Lohan was on SNL, so I planted myself in bed, but I was so beat from the day, I only made it about halfway. I did see The Real Housewives of Disney. Seriously so HILARIOUS!! Go watch! I ended up watching the rest of SNL Sunday afternoon, but it really wasn't great. Don't get me wrong, I like LiLo and probably am the only person on this planet that does, but the skits were disappointing.

Sunday, 03.04.2012

This morning I met a couple for breakfast that is interested in me photographing their wedding in December. It was a great meeting and they are such a cute couple! Yay for new clients!

I then stopped at the mall on my way home to exchange a super cute, new pair of black boots to a larger size. Can't wait to wear them and show them off. I also got a red pair of peep-toe pumps that I will have to share as well. I love shopping!

Wayne had went out to breakfast with our friend Adam and played video games in the basement like boys do. Anyone else's significant other like video games? I took a nap while Hailey napped. I couldn't even keep my eyes open.

Then we ate dinner and Husband was bound and determined to get me hooked on The Walking Dead. It is currently in the middle of season 2 and he has seen all episodes, so I am playing catch-up.

Anybody watch it?

Photobucket

Well, 3 episodes in and I'm hooked.

That pretty much consisted of our Sunday night, but it was rather lovely hanging out with him.

Overall, I had a great weekend! How was yours?

November 24th: I'm thankful for food and tradition and laughter.

Photobucket

I don't know why, but it's the only time of year I usually eat pumpkin pie. We also watch football and play dominoes as a family every year and have lots of laughs. It's such a happy time.

Photobucket

November 25th: I'm thankful for holidays. This is my favorite time of the year and it will be our first with child. I usually get the day after Thanksgiving off. We usually put up Christmas decorations and the tree. This is our tree this year. It's a pre-lit that we bought a few years ago at Walmart. It's never looked so small. Maybe we'll have to invest in a bigger one next year. Nevertheless it still makes me happy.

Photobucket

November 26th: I'm thankful for the gift of life. Today we went to a baby shower celebrating the life of Elliott Horton. His Mommy, Rachel, is married to Wayne's cousin, Evan. Elliott is exactly 3 months younger than Hailey. So that means today Hailey is 5 months old (6/26) and Elliott is 2 months old (9/26). Rachel had a very rough pregnancy and was in the hospital 7 times (8th time he was born) and on complete bed-rest from about week 27. Let's just say he is a very blessed little boy with lots of people around him that love him. We are so happy he arrived safe and healthy. Here is the 4 of us today.

Photobucket

November 27th: I'm thankful for my Church (Immanuel Lutheran) and pastors (Paul and Susan).

Photobucket

I have been at the same church since I was in 3rd grade. I have had the same pastor (Paul) since I started confirmation in 7th grade. Pastor Paul saw me through confirmation and also married Wayne and I in 2006. It is such a great community of faith.

Photobucket

November 28th: I'm thankful for my DVR. It is something silly and trivial, but anything that makes my life a little bit easier and more convenient I am a fan of.

November 29th: I'm thankful for memories. I found out last Wednesday (23rd) that a childhood classmate took his life. His parents found him and it is a terribly sad situation. It definitely put a whole new meaning on being "Thankful." His funeral was today and I cried a lot at what everyone had to say not only about Jimmy, but about life in general.

Photobucket

A quote from the day that will always stick with me was said by Pastor Paul..."Love them while you can and love them well." A message to anyone that feels like nobody cares...there is always someone and it will get better.

Photobucket

And a message to those who care, always say I Love You. You never know when it might be the last time.

November 30th: I'm thankful for movie night. There is nothing better than getting comfy (usually in PJs) on the couch (with a blanket) and either a soda and popcorn or candy (or both) and putting in a movie with the lights off. It's the sense of escaping to another time and place or even a whole other world.

I was feeling pretty good and upbeat, because I hadn't heard from the Dr regarding my glucose test from the Friday before and they tell you if you don't hear anything, then everything is good to go. Well, they ended up calling me late in the afternoon and telling me that my level was "slightly" elevated. It was at 143 and they like to see it at 135 or below. Not sure what a high number is. I didn't ask many questions, because I was so disappointed, but I will be asking questions at our next appointment. So because of that the Dr was ordering the 3 hour test. Even though it was a minor hiccup in what has been a pretty normal pregnancy thus far, I wasn't feeling too good about it. But I knew it had to be done and whatever happened at that point we would just have to deal with head on.

Thursday, April 14, 2011

I stopped by the JBF sale in Maple Grove after work. It was very picked over except for the baby clothes, which I expected. I didn't really have much energy to pick through the baby clothing, so I actually looked through the maternity clothes and instead of getting anything for Hailey, I got 4 shirts and a dress for me for about $30.00. What a great deal!

Friday, April 15, 2011

Since Grams was gone on vacation in AZ and Wayne is usually gone Friday nights I decided to have my sisters come and spend the night with me. We just hung out with the pups, ate dinner, watched a movie and went to bed. Nothing too exciting, but I think they really enjoyed seeing the pups and hanging out. I know the pups also enjoyed seeing them as well. It had been too long.

Saturday, April 16, 2011

They spent the day helping me clean and packing some things up. It was so nice of them to help me start packing and organizing. Again, it was a very uneventful day, but very productive nonetheless. I brought them home that evening (after a DQ stop of course), stopped at Kohl's to get yet another (much needed) new bra and went home to relax for the rest of the night.

Sunday, April 17, 2011

It was nice to have the house to ourselves for the day. It was the one day where we were both home together the whole day. Wayne slept most of the morning as he usually does because of his crazy schedule, but then when he woke up, we got right to work. He hauled all the boxes that we had packed up the day before out to the garage, we reorganized the garage to store some of our packaged up belongings, he swept it out, I went through a few more boxes that we had stored in the garage and filled the trash with things we were getting rid of. It felt so good to purge. I also completely cleaned out my car as Wayne and I were switching. We have a Trailblazer and a Camry and we decided to switch for these last couple of months of pregnancy as it is MUCH easier for me to get in/out of the TB than it is the Camry. What a sweet guy he is for being so understanding. We then headed to Pizza Ranch for dinner, just the two of us. It was our first time there and it was delicious!

Monday, April 18, 2011

Today I had my 3 hour glucose test. I took the day off of work and I was scheduled to be at the lab at 8:30 a.m. I had been fasting (no drink or food) since the night before. They drew my blood, I drank the little bottle of what tastes like over sugared orange pop and then I sat there for 3 hours and they drew my blood 3 more times, every hour, on the hour. I couldn't eat anything until it was over and I could only sip on water. It wasn't a horrible experience. Much more of a mind game than anything else. I brought along my portable DVD player and watched August Rush, which took up about 2 of those hours, I then read on my Nook the other hour.

Photobucket

It was a very touching movie. The only bad part was burping up the glucose drink as I didn't have anything in my stomach. I left the clinic at noon and met Wayne at Applebees for lunch. It was a great lunch and everything tasted so good.

Grams also came back from AZ with her sister Sandy, who is here to stay for the summer.

Friday, April 22, 2011

I had started getting a sore throat the day before, which then went from that to just a scratchy throat and runny nose. My head felt like it was 100 lbs. I went directly home, ate dinner and went right to bed.

Saturday, April 23, 2011

I still didn't feel the best, but I didn't want to miss my friend, Anne's baby shower that afternoon. It was great to see her and our other friend, Tara. It was at Biaggi's in Eden Prairie. This is us with our pregnant bellies.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I am 29 weeks and she is 33 weeks. After the shower I came home, did some cleaning, more packing and then some relaxing. I also watched Winter's Bone.

Photobucket

Overall, the movie was OK. Kinda slow. I really like Jennifer Lawrence though, so that is what made me finish it.

Sunday, April 24, 2011

Happy Easter! We spent the afternoon with Wayne's family and ate some great food. Wayne hauled out more boxes to the garage of what I had packed up the day before. We watched some tv together and just hung out. It was a very nice, relaxing and low key day.

Hope everyone had a great holiday no matter if they celebrated or not.

Friday, April 1, 2011

- I left work in a good mood;

- I had to make a pit-stop at Walmart to pick up a few groceries/snacks for the weekend;

- I got home and ate dinner with Wayne (which consisted of a bowl of cereal); I've been obsessed with Berry Kix this past week;

- He then left for work for the weekend and I sat on the couch for the remainder of the night and finished season 1 and started season 2 of Brothers & Sisters on Netflix;

Photobucket

    Saturday, April 2, 2011

    - It was Green Grandma's 71st birthday, so we met her sister and brother-in-law (Kristi & Craig) for lunch at Bistro 11; the Horton family also decided to join us; I had the BBQ Chicken pizza, but it was cooked in a brick oven, so it was extra tasty; The food was great, just as was the conversation;

    Photobucket

    - After a lengthy lunch, we stopped by the assisted living place to visit with Barbara; Gramma tries to visit a few times a week, but I hadn't been there in awhile, so she got to see my belly bump for the first time since I've really popped out;

    - We then stopped at Dairy Queen on our way home for a treat; ;)

    - I completed my weekly cleaning in the late afternoon/early evening; It takes me a little longer than usual as I have to take several breaks in between;

    - We watched "Everybody's Fine" that night; It was a little slow, but overall a pretty decent movie with a touching message at the end;
      Photobucket

      Sunday, April 3, 2011

      - We had made plans earlier in the week for the family to meet at Broadway Pizza - Robbinsdale for Gram's birthday;

      - On our way there the two of us stopped at a local consignment shop to look around; I scored a few maternity items; 2 shirts and a pair of jean capri's for $26.00; I couldn't pass it up;

      - We then met up for lunch/cupcakes with everyone; again great food and conversation;

      - We also found out that Wayne's cousin Evan and his wife, Rachel, are expecting their first child this October! This is the four of us at their wedding this past October 2010:

      Photobucket

      We are so excited that Hailey will have a new cousin and someone else to play with at family events. They will only be about 4 months apart, so it will be so fun watching them grow up together!

      Congrats again Rachel & Evan!

      - On our way home we stopped at the same consignment shop, but a different location and I scored on a couple MORE maternity items; a shirt and a dress for $15.00; AGAIN, couldn't pass it up;

      - Wayne and I had plans to watch the WWE Wrestlemania PPV last night; I am not into it as much as Wayne is, but I like to keep up-to-date on what's happening; there were several reasons why I really wanted to watch this particular PPV;

      First off, my girl Snookie from the Jersey Shore was in a match and has been making a celebrity appearance the last few weeks, so it was a must watch for me;
        Photobucket

        She won her match and is declared WWE's Diva of the Day today. LOL!

        - Another reason was that the Legion of Doom was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

        Photobucket

        I realize you might not know or care why this is so important to Wayne, but he actually knows Animal from Legion of Doom (far right). Click on this LINK to read more about their career if you're interested. In short, they were and still are the best tag team in the history of wrestling. Animal lives in the Twin Cities with his family and Wayne has kept in touch with him over the years.

        At the beginning of 2011, Wayne and his friend Adam started a pro wrestling radio show called Extreme Pro Wrestling Radio. You can listen to all the podcasts on KFAN HERE.  Animal is their "guest host." It was so cool to watch him stand up there on stage with the other HOF inductees. Wayne is so proud to call him his friend.

        (Animal is 3rd from the right)

        I was supposed to go to our firm Christmas party this night, but it was one of the first big snowstorms of the year. The party was out in Stillwater at one of the attorneys houses and I was really looking forward to it, but the weather was ridiculous so I ended up staying home.

        This is the day the Metrodome died. I had bought Wayne tickets to this Vikes/Giants game (and the Bears game, too) for his birthday back in August and what do you know...we didn't get to go. Because of all the snow that had fallen on the 11th, the roof just couldn't handle it. The Vikings ended up playing the next day (Monday night 12/13) in Detroit. Here is the video footage that was everywhere.

        Here is a before and after picture of it as well.

        Today was my Mom's birthday. It's always a bittersweet day as I do have another sister, Keli Jo, that shares that same birthday with my Mom and would have been turning 16 years old this year. She died when she was only 3 months old from SIDS. I was in the 6th grade. I always try and get my Mom flowers for her birthday, and I ended up getting her a pink poinsettia plant this year and a really nice candle. I thought the plant reminded me of Keli. More for the color, but also because it was something different. That was the first time that day that she had cried. I told her I didn't mean to make her cry, but when I saw it, I knew that was what I needed to get. Our family has our tradition of going out to eat for birthdays. We ended up at Applebees this time. We had lots of fun chatting, laughing and eating.

        I got up and worked at Gold's Gym from 9-12 and then headed down to Ridgedale Mall in Minnetonka to do some Christmas shopping. Every year Green Grandma takes Veronika and Aly out to lunch and then they do some shopping. I usually try and go with them and get my shopping done as well. It's a nice girls day. We ate lunch at my favorite restaurant Big Bowl and then walked around and shopped. Because of the snow-storm the weekend before, this was the last weekend before Christmas to get shopping done. The mall was packed and we ended up being there for longer than I wanted, but I got all my shopping done and got to spend some time with the girls and Grandma.

        We went to see The Fighter this afternoon. We both really liked it. It's not all about fighting and has a really good underlining story. I am a huge fan of Mark Whalberg, but I thought Christian Bale was outta this world. Mark Whalberg is a good actor, but has never really transformed himself into another person. In this movie Christian Bale, completely transforms himself into his character, Dicky. You don't really realize it until the end of the movie, when they show a clip of the real brothers and that's when you can see what a great job Bale did. Amy Adams is also in this movie and plays the lead actress role. I thought she was really good as well. It was a different character than her usual romance movie roles. Definitely something different from her. It's also based on a true story which I love. I really hope it wins some awards and I think Bale should definitely win best supporting actor.

        This was the day of the Vikings/Bears game. They held it at TCF stadium (MN Gopher stadium). I did not want to risk getting sick, and Wayne ended up having to work, so we did not go to this game either. With the team not performing it's best and our shot at any sort of play-off game out the window, we just didn't want to do it. We are also not cold people, so we couldn't fathom sitting outside in the cold, while it's snowing for hours on end.

        Which brings us to Christmas! Stay tuned for my Holiday post.

        Wayne picked Dana up from the MSP airport that evening and made the trip back to the house. She came just for the weekend (Thursday night through Sunday morning) from Point Lookout, NY. Due to traffic they didn't arrive until late...almost 11pm is late for me. We sat up and all chatted before heading to bed.

        Green Grandma and I both took the day off of work to spend with family. Wayne has every Friday off, so it was nice to spend the whole day together. It was very much needed. We met a family friend and others at Broadway Pizza for lunch. Whenever Dana is town we always eat at Broadway Pizza at least once. We always go to the Robbinsdale location as it is the only one that is still family owned.

        From L to R: Green Grandma, Lisa (family friend), Aunt Dana and Kim (my MIL). We also saw Brad & Jackie as well. It's always fun to eat there and catch up with everyone.

        This picture isn't so good, but it's the only one I have of us at Broadway that day.

        Once we were done there Wayne and I did some shopping in Maple Grove. We accomplished getting our Halloween costumes and accessories as well as some Christmas shopping completed.  We saw this movie:

        and had a nice dinner just the two of us at Mongos. Overall it was a fantastic day spent with my one and only.

        Rachel & Evan's Wedding Day

        The ceremony and reception were both located at the Dakota Lodge located in West St. Paul.

        Here is a video of the site. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the reception inside.

        We arrived at about 3pm for family pictures, with the ceremony to start at 4:30, happy hour to begin at about 5, dinner to be served at 6, and dancing to commence afterwards. One of the funnest things was the photo booth they had set up for everyone to use. At some point I plan on scanning in our strips of photos, but our computer that is hooked to our printer/scanner is on the fritz right now. So look for that blog post in the future. Here are some pictures of the day.

        Wayne had to work until 5pm, so although he missed the actual ceremony, he made it in time for dinner and social time with the family.

        I didn't get a real picture of Travis or his girlfriend Ashley. Darn. On the left are the girls, including Aly & Veronika  (Evan's two younger step-sisters) and on the right are the boys, Travis & Jared (Evan's two brothers). They were all in the wedding.

        This is a cute picture of the Horton Family dancing.

        It was a great day filled with laughs, hugs and many memories.

        Sunday, October 17, 2010

        We woke up on Sunday and brought Dana to the airport at about 10am. Gramma and I had lunch at Big Bowl and also did a little shopping at Ridgedale. We then stopped to visit Barbara on our way home and I helped her fill out her assisted living paperwork (more to come about that later). We then headed home for the evening and I was looking forward to watching football, but instead fell asleep for about two hours. Then I woke-up, watched Brothers & Sisters and basically went back to bed. The weekend had obviously taken it's toll on me with staying up late and getting up early, but it was a GREAT weekend nonetheless.

        Congratulations to Rachel & Evan!
