5:30 pm: Pick Hailey up from Daycare if she's there (usually M, W & F). If she's not at daycare then she's usually at my parents house (usually T & TH), which means I try and go work out at the gym, run errands if needed and then go get her afterwards.

6:00 pm: If it's a daycare day then we run errands if needed or go home. If she is at my parents then we don't get home until later where she will fall asleep on the ride home and then I transfer her into bed.

6:30 pm: Eat dinner, watch tv, relax, do chores.

7:00 pm: I give Hailey a bath if needed, otherwise sometime she takes one in the morning.

8:00 pm: Start bedtime routine. Pajamas. Ice cream sandwich (These are her fave and a must). 30 minutes of cartoon time (usually Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood or Caillou). Then prayers in her bed.

Day 14 for Tuesday, May 14th: Ten things that make you really happy.

Besides the obvious big things that make my everyday world go round (Wayne, Hailey, family, friends), here are 10 little things that make me happy.

1. Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies accompanied with a glass of cold milk.

 photo 4297585-plate-of-chocolate-chip-coo_zpsb6667a1e.jpg

2. A clean house. And by "clean" I don't mean dirty, I mean picked up and organized. It just feels nice to fall asleep AND wake up in a not so chaotic environment.

3. Coming home from work (or just about anywhere) and putting on comfy clothes. Being able to roam or lounge around the house in pajamas is the best.

4. Driving with the windows down, sun shining and music blaring.

5. A caramel cooler from Caribou.

 photo ar125012955549113_zpsfd9e3496.jpg

6. A hot shower. Nothing worse for me than a luke-warm or cold shower. That's a sure fire way of starting my day off bad.

7. Cuddles with the Hubs, daughter or pups.

8. Me time after Hailey's in bed at night. Either to catch-up on my tv shows or blog.

9. Getting a compliment on my photography.

10. A fresh manicure/pedicure. It always boosts my confidence and puts me in a good mood when my nails and/or toes look good.

What are some things that make you happy?

Day 13 for Monday, May 13th: Issue a public apology. This can be as funny or as serious or as creative as you want it to be.

I want to publicly apologize to my daughter Hailey. I have and will continue to take endless pictures and videos of you to share with you as you get older. Some of them will be embarrassing to you, but I just can't help myself. I'm sorry, but not really sorry.

The One Thing I Miss About NOT Being A Parent

The One Thing I Miss About NOT Being A Parent

Read post
Well, I failed miserably at this whole blogging every day in May Challenge. Last week I was so busy at work, so the days were packed, and it was Star Party, so the nights were busy, too. I just really didn't have a whole lot of time for anything, and sadly this little blog is the first to get pushed to the bottom of the to do list.

But hopefully I'm back and I can get caught up and be more on top of it.

Welcome to my "Blog Every Day in May Challenge" that I am participating in going on over at Jenni's Story of My Life.

Day 12 for Sunday, May 12th: What do you miss? (a person, a thing, a place, a time of your life...)

The one thing I miss from before being a parent can be summed up in one simple word:

SLEEP

 photo i-love-sleep_zpsadb0ac0c.jpg

I just miss the luxury of going to sleep and waking up when I feel like it. Plain and simple.

Is there something that you miss?

Well, I haven't blogged everyday in May, that's just the way life is. BUT I still plan on completing every blog topic. So here goes...

Day 10 for Friday, May 10th: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.

I don't get embarrassed easily. I figure everyone does stupid things or makes stupid mistakes. Oh well. You pick yourself up and keep moving. But there have been a few times in my past that I have done silly things that I still get made fun of about to this day. Here are 3 of them.

1. When I was in middle school, I was riding my bike with no hands and promptly rode into a mailbox. I can't explain it. It's not like I did it on purpose. It hurt like hell! My family still makes fun of me for it.

2. When I was in high school my Mom sent me to the grocery store for a head of lettuce and I came back with cabbage. Can you tell the difference? I was young. That's the only excuse I got. Again my family still makes fun of me for this.

 photo Collage_zps32d02d24.jpg

3. Also in high school, my Dad was watching an NFL game and I came in and asked who was winning... South Dakota (SD) or the other team? I don't even remember what the other team was, because they pointed out to me that SD stood for San Diego and that South Dakota doesn't even have a professional football team. Once again, they still make fun of me for it.

Have you ever done anything that your family still make fun of you for?

Day 8 for Wednesday, May 8th: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.

 photo Life_zps4563134e.jpg

Obviously there is a time and place for everything. A time and place to be serious and a time and place to be silly. The key to life is knowing the difference.

Some people are just way too uptight. Slow down. Relax. Take a minute to breath and look around you and enjoy the scenery. Sometimes you need to enjoy life as it happens. In this day in age with all the technology at our fingertips and the internets, we can lose time with the real world. I know I'm guilty of it. Sometimes I worry what I'm missing out on with Twitter or Facebook or whatever it may be in that moment, but then I look at what I have...my Husband, my daughter, my family, my friends, my health, a roof over my head, food in my belly and a car to take me places.

And when it comes down to it, what else is there?

Day 7 for Tuesday, May 7th: The thing(s) you're most afraid of.

1. Death/Dying. I know it's cliche, but I am afraid of death and dying any way you want to look at it. I'm afraid of ME not being here on earth for my loved ones and I'm afraid of my loved ones not being here for ME.

2. Worms. Yes, I know it's silly and my Husband makes fun of me, but I hate worms. It's more of a phobia I think, but a fear, too.

3. No Air. As in like drowning. I hate that feeling of not being able to breath. Ugh.

 photo drowning_zps800e198f.jpg

4. Big bodies of water. Only god knows what's in it. Sharks and other giant animals/things.

5. Change. I like my predictable life. Plain and simple, just the way it is.

Day 6 for Monday, May 6th: If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you do'?

My full-time job in simple terms is "I am an attorney's assistant."

I complete various tasks under the supervision of a licensed attorney. I cannot give legal advice.

Some things I do:

Draft, prepare, review and revise pleadings and correspondence;

Prepare and coordinate all documents for trial;

Meet and communicate with attorneys, clients, law firms, courts and outside sources on a daily basis;

Assist attorney with all stages of cases from beginning to end;

Maintain and manage calendar and physical files on a daily basis; and

Manage documents into files from various sources.

Does it sound like a resume, well, I pretty much copied and pasted.

Hey, it's Monday and I have way to much to do to actually type these things out.

I also take pictures on the side. It's just word of mouth. Mostly family and friends.

Go visit my page HERE.

I need to get that caught up with new pictures, too!

My other job?

Is taking care of these two.

 photo 60015624-075_zps43ca0348.jpg

My world revolves around them.

For her eating, sleeping, learning, playing, talking, singing, dancing, going to school, hanging with family, play-dates with friends. I am basically her assistant and chauffeur. And I wouldn't have it any other way!

For him, it's more of a partnership and friendship, to support, to listen, to love, sometimes cook, sometimes clean.

That about wraps it up.

What do YOU do?

Day 5 for Sunday, May 5th: Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends. What makes them great? Why do you love them? If you don't have blogger friends, talk about a real-life friend or even a family member.

Well, I am going to cheat and actually pick a group of blogger friends. I really can't pick just one, cause they are all really fantastic in their own way.

They are the Minnesota Bloggers!

If you are a Minnesota blogger and are NOT a part of this group, you are missing out. I recently foud and joined this group at the end of 2012, but have been more involved with them in the last month or so. They do happy hours and get togethers, etc. They have welcomed me into their group with open arms and hearts.

One of my favorite things about this group is how supportive they are of everyone, whether it be jobs or babies or families, or even struggles of any kind. They always know what to say.

Just want to say thanks ladies for being so great!!

Day 4 for Saturday, May 4th: Favorite quote (from a person, from a book, etc) and why you love it

 photo FaveQuote_zps4b3df7c9.jpg

I probably heard this quote before, but the first time it really meant anything to me was when I heard it at my church while attending a funeral for a high school acquaintance named Jimmy.

I say acquaintance, because he was not a friend, but a guy I had gone to grade school with and had known since we were little. We had been in each others classes over the years and while we were never friends, Jimmy was always very kind and funny.

He died unexpectedly and out of the blue.

No one saw it coming and everyone was devastated.

He had taken his own life.

He had committed suicide.

I sat there listening to all these wonderful people talk about him and share life stories that they had experienced with him. It was a very bitter sweet day as funerals usually are.

Either way it has stuck with me and whenever I think about this quote I think of Jimmy and vice versa. It's pretty self explanatory. I think it gets right to the point.

RIP Jimmy

Day 3 for Friday, May 3rd: Things that make you uncomfortable.

 photo Lo_zps47a82869.jpeg

Here are 8 of mine:

Small talk. I hate small talk. I always feel weird and awkward and never know what to say, or more importantly, what to ask to keep the conversation going. Everything at that moment just slips my brain.

Phone talk. I guess it depends on who it is, but usually I much rather text or email or Facebook someone than actually talk to them. Is that bad? Probably, but I don't really care.

Nylons. Like the full on panty-hose that you wear with dresses and skirts. I'm totally good with knee highs or even thigh highs, but the full ones try I try and avoid if I can.

My bubble. Don't enter my personal space.

Backseats. I get motion sickness so I prefer sitting in the front seat, but I know that's not always and option.

Too tight clothes. Either that I am wearing or that I see someone else wear. Either way...so uncomfortable.

Dirty feet. I hate when my feet feel dirty.

No phone. Being without my cell phone at any given time makes me so crazy uncomfortable. I literally feel like I am missing a limb.

 What makes you uncomfortable?

Day 2 for Thursday, May 2nd: Educate us on something you know a lot about or are good at. Take any approach you'd like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic).

I think this topic has so many people stumped, because we don't like giving our self praise or feel like we are bragging about being good at something. We don't want anyone to think we are full of ourselves.

I decided to do this 30 day blog challenge, then I wrote Day 1, posted it and only AFTER doing that and pledging I would participate for the full 31 days did I read the topic for Day 2.

Shit.

I was stumped. After thinking about what to write for a good 24 hours, I asked my Husband for some inspiration and the first thing out of his mouth was:

"You're a good Wife."

So I decided to run with it, cause I DO think I'm a good Wife. Am I the best one ever? No. But I think I am a pretty darn good one. Here are my top 5 tips for being a good Wife.

1. Respect.

You need to HAVE a good Husband in order to BE a good Wife. No one wants to do things for the other person if they don't get anything in return, right? So do things for each other. The term I always use is "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine."

Example: My Husband helps with things around the house. Like simple things. Dishes, laundry, picking up the house. He knows that the thing I loathe the most is coming home from work all day and then having to continue to do more. It's usually just Hailey and I at night and I don't want to waste my night-time with her doing chores. Is it scrubbing the toilets and cleaning the house from top to bottom? No. But I don't care. It's the little things that make my day and I am so grateful for that. He helps me out in those ways and I help him out in the bedroom. Twss.

2. Be Supportive.

You might not agree with everything they do, but still try and be supportive. Just because it's not important to you, doesn't mean that it's not important to them.

Example: My Husband is REALLY into wrestling. Like the WWE wrestling you see on TV. Do I love it? No. Do I want to sit down and watch 3 hours of Monday Night Raw with him every week? Do I want to go to local wrestling shows? No and No. But that doesn't mean that HE can't. Just like he doesn't want to spend hours watching any of my silly shows (i.e. Bachelor/ette). We each are our own person and I like it that way.

3. Make the time.

That's not to say we don't do ANYTHING together either. We have our shows that we MUST watch together. No exceptions.

Example: It's changed over the years, but most recently it has been The Walking Dead or The Following or New Girl or Bob's Burgers. Find what you can watch together and make the effort. Even if we don't watch it on that night, we will sit down at some point that week and make the time.

4. Communicate & Listen.

Just talk. Have conversations about things, even if it is as simple as your day to day happenings.  Men want to be heard just as much as women do. They want to know that you are really hearing them and what they have to say.

Example: Me and my Husband are on opposite schedules. It isn't ideal, but we make the best of it. We try and take out time in our day to just catch up on stuff. We talk on the phone or text or talk at night before bed. Any way of showing the other person you are there even in the hectic times.

And last, but certainly not least,

5. "Guy" time.

Let them have it. Whatever that may be.

Example: For my Husband it is playing video games. One word of advice, don't try and change them and their "hobbies." Let them play the damn video games. This goes back to #2. With however silly I think video games are, it just doesn't matter. Does it interfere with life? No, and it makes him happy. If that's the most I have to "worry" about then I am fine with that. He's not an alcoholic or a druggie and he doesn't beat me or our child. Nuff said.

Are their any good tips you have that you have learned over the years?

My Life in 250 Words

My Life in 250 Words

I have decided to jump on the bandwagon of Jenni's "Blog every day in May Challenge" going on over on her blog Story of My Life. I usually enjoy these prompts because I often struggle with things to write about.

Go see the list HERE for the whole month.

Day 1 for Wednesday, May 1st is the story of your life in 250 words or less.

So here is mine.

I was born April 9, 1983 in Montevideo, Minnesota. I grew up on a farm until I was about 4. My parents were married when I was 6. My Mom had me at 16. We lived with my Grandparents until moving around to Detroit Lakes (Pre-school), Alexandria (Kindergarten), Plymouth (1st Grade), Bloomington (2nd grade) and finally Eden Prairie (3rd grade). My parents have lived in the same house ever since. My brother, Ross, was born when I was 8. When I was 11, my sister, Keli Jo was born. She died 3 months later from SIDS. It changed me and my family forever. I think it brought us much closer. I was 14 when my sister, Amie, was born. I was 16 when my sister, Kate, was born. I started working as a photographer at 16 for a local studio. I worked there until I got a big girl job at 20. That was also the year I met my Hubs. I knew after just a month of dating him, that he was the one for me. I was engaged at 21; married at 23. We got our first 2 pups the same year we were married. We then inherited 2 more 2 years later. I became a Mom to Hailey Jo in June 2011. I still do photography on the side. My full time job is a Paralegal and I’ve been doing that for almost 10 years. I love my family and my life. That’s me in a nutshell.

Let me know if you are participating as well.
