Happy Hump Day Friends!!

1. What we're eating this week...

I made spaghetti this week which is always delicious and a staple in our house.

I also found these split boneless chicken breasts with provolone and asparagus inside. I paired those with corn on the cob. Such a yummy and quick dinner, which is exactly what we need.

I am also planning on making these this week:

2. What I'm reminiscing about...

Our time in Jamaica...

My sister visiting and staying with our kids while we were in Jamiaca...it was so nice to have her around. I miss my family so much.

3. What I'm loving...

My Influenster Vox Box

Also...

4. What we've been up to...

Packing. We're moving in less than a month, so we are in pack mode.

5. What I'm dreading...

Moving. I like going through stuff, purging, packing and even unpacking and putting stuff in it's place. I just don't like the actual act of moving.

6. What I'm working on...

Packing. This is my life right now.

7. What I'm excited about...

Getting into this new house and my sister, Kate, coming to visit mid-June, my parents coming to visit at the end of June, Hailey's 5th birthday next month. All fun stuff ahead.

8. What I'm watching/reading...

I've recently started the Real World: Go Big or Go Home. They lived in Downtown Las Vegas, so I'm excited to see what landmarks or hotels they put on the show. It's probably going to take me awhile to get through this season, but we will see. I also want to watch the new season of The Challenge that started at the beginning of May.

9. What I'm listening to...

10. What I'm wearing...

I haven't really gotten anything new lately. So it's been the same old things. Ive been wanting to get a pair of the LulaRoe leggings, but have been dragging my feet. I've joined a few FB sites and still don't know how it all works.

11. What I'm doing this weekend...

My Hubby's friend, Adam, is coming into town this weekend, so while they do boy stuff, I will be doing what else...packing.

12. What I'm looking forward to next month...

See #7.

13. What else is new...

We went to the Billboard Music Awards this past weekend. It was fun!

The only other big thing that is going on in our lives is that Green Gramma moved back down to Arizona to live with her sister. So we no longer have her with us. The last year she has been with us she has been such a big help with the kids and around the house.

We are in between daycare situations for Griffin until my sister comes down June 17th. She will be able to watch Griffin after that point until he starts daycare in July. Until then we are having one of our friends down here help.

I can't believe May is almost over. Hope your week is going well.

These are some of my favorites this week:

Food:

My favorite dish this week is THIS one!! Seriously, you won't be able to resist these brussel sprouts!!

Song:

I also posted about my fave song at the moment! If you want to see the official music video...go HERE! P.S. The FULL album is now out and I can't wait to listen to the whole thing!!!

I love everything and WANT everything on THIS website! Especially this:

Cause it just AIN'T!

We're about half way done with this series and LOVE it!!! I am a huge Sam Elliott fan and was excited when I found out he plays the Father role on this show. Also, can Ashton Kutcher do no wrong?

Anything else new and exciting on Netflix? Or Hulu that you would recommend?

This so fits my month year.

I love THIS article so so so much!

And THIS one brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it!!

My favorite purchase this week is actually a secret. I purchased our Father's Day gift from me and the kids to my Husband. Yes, people I know it's only mid-May, and I'm way ahead of the game. It's the first time EVER that I'm ahead of the game and I hope he LOVES it!!! I haven't said anything to him and the only other person I've told is Hailey. She's REALLY good at keeping secrets about presents. Like REAL good. The only way he will know that I bought something for him is if he reads this blog post. Haha. Or when it shows up to the house in the mail in a couple weeks. I'll post about it after he opens it. Woohoo!!

And no, Wayne, if you are reading this, you cannot open it early. You have to wait for your special day!!

I am so excited to go to the Billboard Music Awards this weekend!!! I've never been to an awards show, so this is a first! Woohoo! Brit Brit is opening the show!!

We watched this movie last weekend. It was WAY better than what I thought it was going to be. We watched it as a family and even though there is some risk-ay scenes that we had Hailey close her eyes for, she was glued to it and absolutely loved it.

I was so excited to see this yesterday:

Anybody else excited for this revival?

We took Griffin swimming for the first time last weekend. It was warm outside, so we decided to try. He LOVES bath time, but obviously the pool is different. But he LOVED pool time, too!

That's pretty much all for this week! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sweet Roasted Brussel Sprouts {Recipe}

Sweet Roasted Brussel Sprouts {Recipe}

Happy Thursday!!

So I found a recipe in one of my Taste of Home magazines and knew I had to try it. Now, let me just preface this recipe by saying, I am not a fan of brussel sprouts, AT ALL, but these are just too hard to resist.

What you need:

2 bags of brussel sprouts
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 tsp garlic powder

1 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup sugar

1 cup dried cranberries
1 cup sliced almonds

Preheat oven to 400*. Cut brussel sprouts in half and put in a bowl. Toss with the oil and garlic powder. Transfer to a greased baking dish. Roast in the oven for 30 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile in a small saucepan combine vinegar and sugar. Bring to a boil , stirring to dissolve sugar. Reduce heat. Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until syrupy, stirring occasionally.

After about 30 minutes of brussel sprouts in oven, sprinkle with 1/2 cup sliced almonds and pour drizzle into dish. Stir. Put back in oven for 5-10 minutes.

Once brussel sprouts are finished baking, transfer to serving dish. Drizzle with other half of almonds and cranberries to finish.

I did change the recipe up a little bit from the magazine as far as process goes, but to each their own.

I hope you enjoy!!!

I am so ready for the weekend and have LOTS to get caught up on after coming back from Jamaica. We've been home for a week and I'm still behind on life. Well, mostly laundry, but still.

Here are a few favorite things this week:

This lotion saved my body from the sun. I still had some pain and peeled (a lot), but it was a life saver. And smells SO good! #ismelltropicalallthetime

I've been loving this show, but I heard it's cancelled. Bummer. Oh well. I thought it was great. And who doesn't LOVE Sarasin (Friday Night Lights anyone?) and the chick from Newsroom. #creepydrama

I got this shirt from Target before Jamaica and finally wore it. Casual Friday...holla!! Also, I am wearing my 2nd pair of skinny jeans that I got from Walmart. Yes. Walmart. Every once in awhile I will find a gem of a clothing product and well, that's these. They are the Jordache brand that Sarah Jessica Parker endorses. And hey, if they are good enough for her, then they are good enough for me.

They are about $16.00 and I loved them (and wore the crap outta the first pair) that I bought a second pair!! I originally bought the first pair last fall when trying to find a pair of skinny/stretchy jeans post pregnancy. I immediately fell in love and you cannot beat that price. Woohoo!! #noshameonmywalmartgame

I love everything about THIS post that my friend Mandy wrote. As I stated above, I'm behind on life...my house needs cleaning, my calendar needs updating, and we have a ton of clothes that need putting away...not to mention we are moving in a month and need to start packing/purging, etc. But this article says it all!!

I also Love Love Love THIS one!! She says it so good!!

Loving this song and so much more...Drake, Cole Swindell, the list goes on! #dancedancedance

So my Hubby completely surprised me with photos of our kiddos for Mother's Day. This one is my fave! Of course, I cried. Look how cute and big and old they look. Hailey is going to be 5 next month. Wahhh!!! #tears I just love how much they love each other!! #allthelove

Another one of our children. I love when she makes him laugh. He is OBSESSED with her!!

And of course I am loving this guy. I bought this Eric Church shirt for him almost 2 years ago and he is just now able to fit into it! He has come such a long way in the last 7 months. I am so proud of him and to call him mine!!

That's all for now folks. I hope you have a great weekend!!
