NEW YEARS EVE

Since we couldn't go out and party it up this year, Wayne planned a little over night trip up north to Grand Casino Mille Lacs to see the country band Parmalee. We ate the buffet (ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB LEGS? - YES PLEASE!!), gambled a little and then pretty much hung out in our hotel room and got some good sleep after the concert. Wayne was still pretty sick and I was pregnant and still tired, so it was nice to relax and sleep without having to worry about our child. It was so nice to get away even for a night. We even got to meet the band!

Here is me and Mini D this week:

(12 weeks, 2 days)

We had our 12 week Dr appointment today and got to hear the heartbeat. Yay! I was so relieved from the last appointment three weeks back. It's always comforting to hear that heartbeat and be reassured that everything is on the right track. Now we will start going every 4 weeks.

(13 weeks)

I had been having some trouble getting comfortable and sleeping, so I ordered myself one of those pregnancy pillows to see if they really work. Well friends, let me tell you, it's FABULOUS!! Since I have gotten it, I have slept so much better!! This is the pillow (my extra pillow) compared to a regular pillow (Wayne's extra pillow).

VEGAS TRIP

So again, Wayne surprised me with another trip. This time out of state to Las Vegas!! It was a Christmas present to me. We flew out there early Saturday AM and then flew back on Sunday. He voice tracks a country station there and so his friends/co-workers helped him plan it all and get everything lined up. We flew out there to see Eric Church (one of my fave country artists) in concert at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan. I plan on doing more of a full re-cap at soon, but here is a picture of us waiting at the Meet N Greet:

UPDATE:
Maternity Clothes: I am pretty much wearing the belly bands exclusively now. If it's one thing I learned from being pregnant the first time, it's that maternity clothes are SUPER comfy. I had put it off for so long the first time, I told myself that I wasn't going to do that this time around. It's not worth trying to squeeze into pants or something and be uncomfortable all day. Thankfully I kept a bin of my maternity clothes from Hailey and pulled those out. I don't want to be uncomfortable at all.

Sleep: I have started to feel better overall and am mostly sleeping fine thanks to my new pillow. I’ve also still been taking long naps on the weekends to catch up on sleep.

Best Moment of the Week: Our Dr appointment. Hearing the heartbeat is the best and puts my mind at ease.

Movement: None yet.

Food Craving: Still salty things like chips. Also, crackers and cheese as a go to snack.

Food Aversions: Nothing really
Morning Sickness: None.

Gender:  Unknown, but we will be finding out.

Symptoms: Nothing too extreme. Starting to get some energy back. Sometimes I don't even feel pregnant other than a growing belly and being sleepy.

What I miss: Not too much. I guess being able to have a glass of wine or a beer at dinner or at a family/friend function is really the only thing and that's so small and petty.

What I'm looking forward to: We plan on sharing our good news with the world next week at 14 weeks! I haven't told many people. Wayne has told a lot more people than I have. He can't keep his mouth shut. We've recently had a few friends/acquaintances that have gone through rough times with their pregnancy's and have given birth at 20-22 weeks and have lost the baby in the end. It's so emotional and my heart breaks every time I think about it. I have to say it's really freaked Wayne out too. We want to try and be respectful of others feelings, but also want to be excited and share our news as well. I know that whatever God has planned is what's right for our family and if we are chosen to go through something like that, we will get through it and face it together as a family.

On a lighter note, I plan on telling my bosses and co-workers as well. It will be such a relief to not have to hide it any longer. It's getting harder to hide my growing belly and I am running out of "normal" clothes to wear that somewhat hide the bump.

Today we had our first real Dr appointment in the morning and then an ultrasound in the afternoon, so I ended up taking the day off of work. We brought Hailey with us that day, too. She loved seeing the baby on the monitor and hearing the heartbeat. It gave me such relief to see and hear the little nugget.

10 weeks

I was still having many of the same symptoms. Still tired. Still hungry. We had planned a way of telling our families. I had purchased a shirt for Hailey from Etsy and then we took a picture of her in the shirt with the ultrasound picture and put it in a frame. Green Gramma, Wayne's Mom and my Dad each opened it as one of their "gifts." It was so fun to see their reactions. It took a second for it to register and for them to actually read what was on the shirt, but after it sunk in then everyone was cheering and crying. It was a pretty special Christmas.

We didn't tell our extended families yet, because we were only 10 weeks. We just told our more immediate families. When I told my Gramma over the phone a couple weeks later on her birthday (1-8-15), she said she figured something like that because of what I was wearing at Christmas...leggings and a tunic. She knew before I told her with Hailey, too. How do Grandma's just know these things?

It was a great holiday surprising them in such a fun way!

UPDATE:

Maternity Clothes: I have seemed to pop out quicker with this one than I did before, which I heard is normal. I also am hungrier and eating more, too, which is contributing as well right now to my initial weight gain I think. I have started wearing the belly bands with a few of my pants, which I didn't do with Hailey until week 14 or so.

Sleep: I am still tired, but I don't think I am as exhausted as weeks 4-8. During the week is a lot tougher. I think that by the time I work all day, get Hailey from school and then get her home and do dinner, bath and bedtime, I am so done for the day. I still take naps on the weekends to catch up on my sleep.

Best Moment of the Week: First it was ultrasound day. We saw the baby and heard the heartbeat. Hailey was with us at that appointment, too, so it was extra special for her to see/hear and be involved.

My second favorite moment was sharing the news with our families over Christmas week,

Movement: None yet.

Food Craving: More salty than anything else. Give me a bag of chips and I'm good to go. I have also wanted meat, like a good juicy steak sounds great!

Food Aversions: It's hard sometimes to know what I want to eat or know what I am hungry for. Sometimes nothing sounds good, but I know I have to eat something.

Morning Sickness: I have not had any thus far. Although I had a horrible cold/sinus thing that I couldn't really take anything for and it sucked so bad!!  I was so miserable for about a week!

Gender: Unknown, but we will be finding out.

Symptoms: Having the ultrasound was great, because other than being tired, I haven't had too many symptoms and often times do not feel like I am even pregnant. I am also more sensitive and feel like I cry way easier.

What I miss: Not being so tired and actually having energy to do things.

What I'm looking forward to: My next Dr appointment during week 12 (1/7/15).

(Test 1 at 3 weeks, 5 days )

We just got done with a full family day at a Joe Mauer bowling event and I just decided to take a test. I wouldn't have said we were trying, we just weren't preventing anything.

It was positive.

November 11, 2015
(4 weeks, 1 day)

We celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary with a couples massage and dinner at Wildfire!

November 15, 2015
(4 weeks, 5 days)

We had our family Christmas today on my Dad's side like we do every year. Usually it's a drinking event, but when my Mom asked me if I was bringing any wine, I said "No, I didn't think so, but I could." She immediately got suspicious. We ended up telling her that day, but swore her to secrecy because we were going to wait until Christmas to share the news with everyone. I did get to snuggle up my Cousin, Nicole's little boy, Brantley.

November 16, 2015
(Test 2 at 4 weeks, 6 days)

I waited a week after the first one I took and then took another test and that one was positive, too!

(6 weeks, 3 days)

We celebrated Thanksgiving with our families and I ate so much. It was a great day with family. That's another day that we usually have some wine. My Aunt and Uncle brought some with to my parents house from their local winery and of course I couldn't have any. I don't think anyone thought anything of it though.

(Week 8)

Today is Jingleball day! Such a fun night, but I was so exhausted by the end of the night. I was definitely struggling the next day and it took me pretty much all week to catch up on sleep and rest. One of my favorite pics of the night is us with Iggy Azalea.

UPDATE:

Maternity Clothes: Not yet.

Sleep: I am so tired these weeks 4 through 8. I am exhausted when I come home from work and take 3+ hour naps on both Saturdays and Sundays. I remember being tired with Hailey, but not THIS tired.

Best Moment: Taking the first test and surprising Wayne with it and then taking the second test and confirming it. Also, as much as pregnancy symptoms suck sometimes, I am thankful for them because they let me know something is going on.

Movement: None yet.

Food Craving: Cheese and I need to eat all the time.

Food Aversions: None yet.

Morning Sickness: None. With Hailey I couldn't take my prenatal in the morning without food, otherwise I would feel nauseous. This time I can take it anytime and feel o
OK.

Gender: Don't know yet, but we will be finding out.

Symptoms: Tired (see above) and HUNGRY! Again, I remember having to eat more often with Hailey, but seriously I HAVE to eat every two hours or so. It's ridiculous. I feel like that's all I'm doing. I am also more sensitive and feel like I cry way easier.

Also, my boobs hurt SO bad. It's painful. They are OK during the day when I am wearing a bra, but the transition at night when I take it off is excruciating, so sometimes I have been even sleeping with my bra on. I know that may be TMI, but it's the truth.

I feel like I am more achy and sore this time around. Like my body is gearing up and getting ready for this baby. I was pretty miserable those first weeks.

What I miss: Not being tired. I am just tired ALL THE TIME.

What I'm looking forward to: Our first Dr. appointment at 9 weeks on 12/17/14.

I'm lumping weeks 4-8 together, because basically those 4 weeks I had the same type of symptoms. I was so tired and hungry and it took everything in me to keep going. I tried to take it day by day.

Stay tuned for more Mini D updates.
