Ok, who watches this show and why did no one tell me how GREAT it is? Ok, there were a few people that did ask if I watched Chicago Fire and when I said no, they immediately told me I NEEDED to.

So I did. I mean I am.

I watch it via ON DEMAND (again...LOVE IT!) I started it about a month ago and watched the first 3 episodes and then I was going to wait for Wayne cause I thought it was a show he would like and we could watch together. He did watch the first 3 episodes and I think he liked it OK, but with his schedule we can barely keep up with the shows we already DO watch together and it was just too hard to add another one.

Honestly, I got too impatient, so I just went ahead and watched it without him over this last weekend. Seriously, SO SO good, and in my defense, I want to get through the 1st season before season 2 starts on September 24th. As of today, I am through episode 14 of 24 and am hoping to finish it by the end of this week.

It did throw me for a loop in these last couple episodes (13 & 14) when I thought one of my favorite main characters was going to leave the show and I was actually contemplating not watching it anymore. Cause really, what's the point without him, right?

I mean, who doesn't love Taylor Kinney. I first laid eyes on him in 2010 when he appeared on Season 2 of Vampire Diaries. He only lasted about a season and then was killed off. I was sad. I thought the same thing was going to happen and he was done and wouldn't even make it through Season 1 of Chicago Fire, but then miraculously the writers pulled their heads out of their butt's and he ends up staying.

Oh Chicago Fire. How I love thee.

I still have several episodes to go before the end of the first season, but I am already looking forward to starting season 2.

Anyone else watch Chicago Fire?

Another Surgery in 2013

About 3 weeks ago at 4:00 a.m. on Monday morning, August 12th, Wayne had a gallbladder attack. He had all the symptoms:

- Moderate to severe pain under the right side of the rib cage
- Pain through to the back and/or to the right shoulder
- Severe upper abdominal pain
- Nausea
- Queasiness
- Vomiting (almost)
- Gas
- Burping or belching
- His attack was at night
- His attack was after overeating
- His attack was followed a day of fatty and greasy foods
- His pain was worse with deep inhalation

And I mean ALL the symptoms. I had never seen him like that or in so much pain. Not even from his stomach hernia. Totally not like him, so I knew it was bad.

He went to the Dr later that morning, they ran some blood tests, prescribed him some pain meds and the Dr. recommended he have an ultrasound. We then went upstairs to do the ultrasound. Afterwards the tech unofficially concluded he had gall stones. Because she was a tech and not the Dr, she couldn't tell him that ON the record. They said they would call him after the Dr looked at it and then we were on our way.

That Thursday, the 15th, the Dr called him to confirm that he indeed needed his gallbladder out and they were referring him to another office and to call them to schedule a consult. So he calls and they can't get him in until the following Wednesday morning the 21st. The day before the start of the MN State Fair. Ugh. So, we pretty much came to the conclusion right away that the surgery was by no means happening before the fair. Great (insert sarcasm font). He went to the consult that Wednesday and because he could in no way miss any of the fair, the surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10th. So needless to say he has been dealing with on and off pain since August 12th. Fun (insert more sarcasm font).

To complicate things even more, because he had hernia surgery just in April, this gallbladder surgery might be more invasive and instead of it being a daily in & out thing, he might have to spend a night or two in the hospital. Gross. The only thing that sucks about this whole things is A) He's in on/off pain until then and B) The Dr won't know until she is actually IN surgery if it will be more invasive or not. So we kind of have to wing it and plan for the worse.

Always something right?

First off...WOWZA. I can't believe it's September already and we are experiencing fall weather. Not sure how I feel about that one yet. I know everyone is jumping on the Blogtember that is happening over at SOML, but I just am not that organized for that right now.

The MN State Fair is done and I, for one, am so happy about it. I finally have my Husband back and my life can go back to some kind of normal. We went 2 times this year, which is less than normal, but plenty this year with the heat. We got in all the yummy foods we needed and then some.

I usually take weekends off for blog posts and I counted yesterday as part of the weekend. So no Music Monday yesterday, but I'm already thinking of next week, so stay tuned.

My Babygirl starts full time daycare this week. Both of us decided to take her this morning, since she starts in a new room, with a new cubby, new(ish) teachers and new(ish) friends. Usually Wayne drops off and I pick up, but we both decided to go to make the transition complete. She's already been in this class off and on for about a month now, but she will officially be moved over starting today. We'll see how we all are at the end of the week. I know that a lot of parents are going through the whole 1st day of school business, so just know that I kind of get it, too, OK? OK.

We have regressed in the whole potty training department. She did SO good at the fair both Friday AND Saturday and then for some reason on Sunday she just wasn't into it. We were home most of the day, too and it just wasn't clicking. It's so hard to not get frustrated or discouraged, but I'm trying to not let it get to me. Monday was more of the same. I'm hoping to get her back on track this week and keep at it and hopefully school will help me re-enforce it as well.

Anyways, that's all I got for today. Hope everyone had a great long holiday weekend and I hope you all have a great first week of September.
