So almost three years to the day (10/7/2015) Wayne had his gastric sleeve surgery. You can read all about that HERE. That procedure was the best decision he ever made for himself and even though it was a difficult road the following months after, it truly changed who he was for the better. I will forever be grateful for Dr. Tom and his team.

Now, today he is getting a less invasive procedure done at Belle Medical called HD Body Sculpting. He is getting his upper abdomen, lower abdomen and love handles done. With the 200 lbs he's lost since the surgery there were still a few problem areas that he wanted to take care of. Well, that's where Belle Medical steps in to help.

This is what he shared on his FB about it. We will be documenting his surgery, recovery and the following weeks and months as the sculpting process continues to work it's magic. He has been very open about all his struggles with weight loss and confidence even before the gastric sleeve surgery and will continue to be open about this, too. He truly feels that if he can help even one person with whatever they are going through or feeling by sharing his story, then it is all worth the vulnerability that can be so scary.

Now, let me just tell you that we have been together for 15+ years and I have loved him from the moment we met and knew shortly after we started officially dating that we were meant for each other.

I have loved him at his heaviest (440+ lbs) and supported him from the get go of whatever he needed to do to feel better about himself and gain that inner self-confidence that he felt he was missing. This whole journey has been about him and being THE BEST person he can be not only for himself, but for his family.

If you have ever met him, then you know he exudes confidence, but that doesn't mean that inside he is confident. There's a difference between the two and you would never know that about him. He still sees that 440+ lb guy in the mirror and struggles with that daily. It's hard to get out of that mindset when you were in it for so long. I am confident that this procedure will help him with the confidence he needs to feel the best for himself.

I have always supported him in whatever he has wanted to do, because I know that he supports me now in whatever I do and that he would support me in anything that I would want to do in the future.

Bottom line is: I am his biggest cheerleader.

So stay tuned for more updates on his procedure in the following days, weeks and months.

A couple weeks ago, my Husband had a phone interview with Jason Derulo for the radio station he works for. If you don't know who Jason Derulo is, all you need to do is google him and you will learn more than you need to know. The short version is he is a pop-star who was also engaged to another pop-star, Jordin Sparks, who won her season of American Idol.

Minutes before the phone interview, my Husband was informed that Jason and his fiance, Jordin Sparks, broke up. He did the interview and posted it to his blog page and well...it went viral.

Him (Big D) and the radio station he works for (KDWB) were reported on various entertainment websites:

7 years ago today I stood up in front of all our family and friends and married my best friend. That's what he was then and that's what he is now. I would say even more so now then ever. And even though we've been married for 7, we've been together as a couple for over 10.

A decade.

And how crazy busy it's been. We started dating when I was just 20 (him 22) and now that I am 30 (him 32), we have truly grown up and matured together.

We've learned from each other and even though we've fought and bickered and disagreed with things, our love and trust in each other has never failed us over the years.

We've been through so much. We've been through it all. He has truly been my constant and I don't know what I would do or where I would be without him.

I love you, Wayne!!

Happy 7th Wedding Anniversary!

Also, happy 1st decade together and here is to many more!

Another Surgery in 2013

Another Surgery in 2013

About 3 weeks ago at 4:00 a.m. on Monday morning, August 12th, Wayne had a gallbladder attack. He had all the symptoms:

- Moderate to severe pain under the right side of the rib cage
- Pain through to the back and/or to the right shoulder
- Severe upper abdominal pain
- Nausea
- Queasiness
- Vomiting (almost)
- Gas
- Burping or belching
- His attack was at night
- His attack was after overeating
- His attack was followed a day of fatty and greasy foods
- His pain was worse with deep inhalation

And I mean ALL the symptoms. I had never seen him like that or in so much pain. Not even from his stomach hernia. Totally not like him, so I knew it was bad.

He went to the Dr later that morning, they ran some blood tests, prescribed him some pain meds and the Dr. recommended he have an ultrasound. We then went upstairs to do the ultrasound. Afterwards the tech unofficially concluded he had gall stones. Because she was a tech and not the Dr, she couldn't tell him that ON the record. They said they would call him after the Dr looked at it and then we were on our way.

That Thursday, the 15th, the Dr called him to confirm that he indeed needed his gallbladder out and they were referring him to another office and to call them to schedule a consult. So he calls and they can't get him in until the following Wednesday morning the 21st. The day before the start of the MN State Fair. Ugh. So, we pretty much came to the conclusion right away that the surgery was by no means happening before the fair. Great (insert sarcasm font). He went to the consult that Wednesday and because he could in no way miss any of the fair, the surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10th. So needless to say he has been dealing with on and off pain since August 12th. Fun (insert more sarcasm font).

To complicate things even more, because he had hernia surgery just in April, this gallbladder surgery might be more invasive and instead of it being a daily in & out thing, he might have to spend a night or two in the hospital. Gross. The only thing that sucks about this whole things is A) He's in on/off pain until then and B) The Dr won't know until she is actually IN surgery if it will be more invasive or not. So we kind of have to wing it and plan for the worse.

Always something right?
